[HEADING=1] The Twisted Earth [/HEADING]
[HEADING=2] The story begins.... [/HEADING]

The room around you is a crisp and clean environment, red carpets and curtains in perfect condition drape across the floor and walls. To one side, a large open view window displays a view of the old city, under the light of the moon. The crumbling ruins in the distance, barely visible and closer, towards the inhabited portion of the city, lights flicker and fires illuminate the sides of buildings. Guards are positioned around you, watching as you sit at a large wooden table.
Double oak doors swing open; from them a powerful and smart looking man enters. Wearing a luxurious creame suit. He smiles as he looks at all of you waiting. With a gesture of his hands he presents himself to you. "Welcome, I, I am Balthazar and this" He gestures to the room "Is my Ziggurat. In the time before the war, people used to flock here, to see it. An attraction of some sort. A centre piece to the old city. My City" He says, smiling. "Now, too business. You have..." He frowns slowly. "You have all been very troublesome and caused me a great deal of stress. Times have been poor to my family recently. In the old days, there was a creature, the ancients called it a 'Shark'. This creature could smell blood for miles; it would use this to find its prey. They had a saying. There's blood in the water." He stops, to look at everyone. "There IS blood in the water. Recently, my forces have had trouble, with you and with some others. My men have pulled back and locked down the most important areas.? He says with a sigh. ?This has left me with less manpower than I need. You see, a great treasure has presented itself to me. One which I cannot resist. If you will, watch.? Balthazar moves towards a solid wooden wall and pushes a button. With a slight hiss, the wall parts and out of it comes an old dirty looking screen. It switches on and a video plays.
Thunder rumbles through the speakers as a distorted picture appears on the screen, with a faint green glow. A streak of lightning flashes across the sky, mumbling is coming from the background and a hand points to something high in the sky. Another clap of thunder and flash of lightning reveals a giant floating shape, an airship. It's slowly descending, tilting to one side, getting lower and lower. The mumbling gets louder....
Balthazar looks at you all. "This is of the most importance to me. That, Airship, is now mine. It?s crew, its cargo. It is mine. I want you to find it. I want you to bring me whatever you find and if you can?t, bring back the means to craft another one." His look is stern. ?This would give me the advantage I?ve been waiting for, this would give me, the city. There is something in this for you too. All of you. If you do this for me, you shall be free. You shall be free within Crux and you will have the support of the dogs, whenever you are in Crux.? He smiles, pointing to one of the open windows that present a view of the city. ?What say you??
