mmmmmm.... lore...
Not really a mystery, but just to put it out there cos it's my fave snip of obscure lore and i'm surprised it hasn't come up yet:
Inquisitor rulebook... on about the 3rd page it is suggested that the emperor wasn't quite as "mortally wounded" as fox news would have had the imperial citizens believe...
(btw i hope this is still canon.. I've been hearing GW have been neglecting their "specialist games" of late and Inquisitor might not be tied in to the main plots anymore, which would be a damn shame)
Anyway.. 3 random characters are having a quiet chat in the emperor's throneroom shortly after the Horus heresy (i reckon 1 or more of the high lords of Terra), in not so many words conversation basically runs like:
1- "so ...he's not actually comatosed then?"
2- "umm..no...we could probably wake him up actually..what'd'ya reckon?"
1-"hmmm...probably best not to... if he comes back shit will kick off again if theres any question over whether it's really him... believe it or not the proles are worshipping him as a god already. And also...well we'd look pretty damned unprofessional for telling everyone he was beyond help.. "
2- "yeah you're probably right..best leave it for now..."
at this point a female 3rd party interjects and goes
3-2 WTF!?...you guys are dicks!.....the people must be told!", storms off..
am guessing said 3rd party got a lovebite from an eversor assasin before she made it out of the throneroom
Anyway.. cracking thread. Has filled in alot of gaps for me..
