you see this younguns? This is what a real kids cartoon is like. Although i did annoy the hell out of my parents constantly singing that song as a little kid.

I have no idea but my Dad told me that just as I was being born a radio was playing this by his request

I love my Dad

Edit: The first song I really remember is this while watching the movie as a kid.

They're warm and fuzzy is what the lyrics are :)

Strangely, none of my friends have heard the song. Whenever I ask someone, they're all like "The fuck kind of kids' song is that?".
I imagine being cradled in gut arms would be warm, but not really fuzzy. Maybe warm and sticky? Then again, "Rock a Bye Baby" is pretty twisted, too.

OT question: How do you pronounce the "o" with the umlat in the band Röyksopp? I'm guessing the "Röy" part doesn't quite rhyme with "boy". And is the double p some odd pronunciation?

Hush-a-by baby
On the tree top,
When the wind blows
The cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks,
The cradle will fall,
And down will fall baby
Cradle and all.

But imagine how soft gut arms would be!

The 'ö' is pronounced like the 'u' in the word "burn" or "church".

I was always sort of confused about the umlaut, since we don't use it in Norway. It's Swedish, I think, and it's the equivalent of the Norwegian letter 'ø'.

The double p indicates that the preceding 'o' is to be short, not drawn out. It's the difference between "scoot" and "rot", sort of.
Plus, the 'o' is pronounced like the 'o' in "rot" or the 'a' in "lawn"

For the record, 'Röyksopp' literally means "smoke mushroom" (gasteroid fungi).

Sort of morbid, I guess, but more subtly so. It doesn't exactly say "And the baby'll go 'splat'".

Fun fact that song was made for 'space jam'.
I'm aware, that's how I knew of the song in the first place. Though I haven't seen that film in ages now that you bring it up, so I'm not sure how it holds up.

"Birthday" by the Beatles. I was probably like four or five. My dad was really into the White Album at the time, and years later I really listened to it a lot, too. I remember saying at the time that the Beatles were my "favorite band." "Stop in the Name of Love" by The Supremes may predate that because I had my sister's record player and her old LPs.

Something by Van Halen. Their music is in the background of all of our family videos from 1-6 years old.

"You Really Got Me" or "Everybody Wants Some!" was probably the first though. I had a cool childhood.

I think it was Veronica by Elvis Costello. I remember being, like, 4 or 5 years old and listening to it. Every time I play it on my iPod, it's an intensely nostalgic experience.
