The whole My Little Pony "20% Cooler" Meme is ironically dumb.

So like...

There are people who think about this stuff?

Don't you ponies have, like, your own forum or something? I thought there was the agreement that for the good of the community, there'd be no pony threads anymore.
I understand that perspective, but when you quarantine people for watching/discussing a harmless show because some people didn't like it, it sends the wrong message. If people are offended by a candy-colored pony, I don't think much rational conversation is going to take place.

I get that the hate wars are annoying but...hey, internet. There's nothing special about the brony c-c...I hate to even use this word...brony 'controversy'. It's just people not excepting something new vs. people that are frequent victims of harassment, thus they get overly defensive. That's basically the internet in general.

What is this voodoo? A second pony thread was bumped? I hear the pounding hooves of the mods with their swift lock of justice. TAKE MERCY ON US OH GREAT AND POWERFUL MODS! we are but decent ponies in an indecent time!
Umm...why is bad to talk about a TV Cartoon Show in this Forums?
Did I lost a Great Forum War or something?

OP isn't as worked up as most of you guys think.
If I know my SweetShark,he just likes thinking too much into things and creating interesting conversations, but he uses exclamation marks and sometimes caps for dramatic effect.
Hello Jeb, so long no see!

Yeah, I just wanted to create something different again to kill some time and I had this in my mind and I though "heh, why not, I will make it".

As I said I don't think SO hard about this, I am just saying.

Like a sir!

But yeah, I don't really get the big deal about it being used incorrectly. I use it most of the time to explain something awe inspiring, or, as the original intent goes, to improve something. Those who get the reference laugh, while those who don't simply take it into account and not even question it.

Well... you are correct. It is ironic. Though it's literally ironic, you don't need to go and add your explanation for why. That also doesn't necessarily make it "bad". Whatever the hell that means in terms of memes.
I'm pretty sure there are only two levels of memes: bad and worse.

I'm also pretty sure sense is meaningless when it comes to memes. Abandon logic all ye you enter here.

Face it man, all memes are dumb. That's the point of memes. Even when used correctly they're still kinda dumb.

Well according to several later comics, the makers of VG cats are bronies(or at least the two main characters), so I suppose it would make sense to throw a joke or two in there referencing the show.

On topic: Everyone pretty much said all that needed to be said. I however think the meme went the way of the "arrow in the knee" a long while ago, it doesn't make me cringe quite as much as the latter though. I still enjoy "the fun has been doubled" and anything regarding Lyra though for some reason.

I kind of wonder why there is so much pony merch focused on Rainbow Dash , at least in stores like hot topic anyways. Fluttershy and Luna need love too =0!

I'll just keep it simple and never use the meme, like I've been doing previously :/

This thread had been one of the most outlandish threads I had ever seen on this site, standing on top of mountains with giants such as the various clever spam bots that periodically infest our forums. I can't believe you analyzed this so much that you've produced so many words about a very... strange, topic.

Like the others had said earlier I do believe you have little control over memes once they leave the internet. Maybe post this on 4chan pony board and see how it goes?

I feel that this thread is 20% less meaningful to my life than most.

I need a "20% cooler" t-shirt that won't cost me $30 to buy.

I'm with you on that.

In terms of a character, Rainbow Dash is arguably the weakest compared to the rest of the main cast. However, I will offer as a reasonable explanation that she is the most visually striking; the kind where the eye looks favorably upon the most because of the amount of color. Personally, I think the design is a bit lazy (why would you dump all colors on one when the other main cast has their own separate color scheme?), but I won't lie when I say that in most images of the show, my eye is automatically drawn to her because of the style they put on her.

That's probably the reason most people latch onto her: they prefer the visually appealing character over the well-developed character most of the time. Fans want something that seems most exclusive to the medium they're following.

Or maybe it's because I dislike her the most, I dunno. :p

That makes sense, her striking and brash personality kind of matches her coloration heh. I just figure there is huge potential for merch regarding other characters. I would totally get a shirt with crazy twilight or assertive fluttershy on it; heck, you would figure hot topic would pick up crazy pinkie, especially around this time of the year. Buuutnyes. I guess welovefine.com is the only place to go for those kind of options at the moment.

I am unsure if I can list the ponies in favorite to least favorite, as my favorites actually change from time to time. For the longest time, I didnt like rarity, then she slowely started to grow on me like a cancerous tumor (im kidding), so..I think I might be with you on rainbow dash being my "least favorite" so to speak. Her up front and personal brashness is a bit grating.
