Ok The PS3 only has a few good games and I'm on my second 360 but at least they're trying something new, the Wii just uses old tech and gets away with it! It literaly has 2 good games but yet its selling quicker than shit off a stick. The other consoles are going where the console industry has never gone and the Wii is at the back just exploiting everyone elses work.
The most widespread console is doing little to help the industry, and no one realises Nintendo is diddling everyone out of their hard earn money, WTF?!

If you agree do tell and if you don't erm just sit in that corner over there. :)

You do realise it's kind of flipped? Nintendo being the most innovative with games other than Top tier graphics shootout 4.

Well the Wii is marketed to kids, you don't see Hannah Montana on the 360 or PS3, and kids just want what looks cool, they don't give a damn for playability or storyline, I am surprised that this kind of stuff hasn't already been done on other consoles.

The Wii is frakking annoying because I spent my console allowance on it and I play Gamecube games on it more than Wii games.

I fail to see how a system that is built off of motion-sensing technology is not treading into new territory, while the other two systems, which are still using the generic joystick and button pressing technique are trailblazers. Every generation of consoles have been, more or less, built off of the basic joystick + button format with just graphical/audio/storage upgrades with each release. The Wii is trying to do something different. Sometimes it has succeeded (RE4, No More Heroes, CoD: World at War) and other times it hasn't (Red Steel, Prince of Persia, large group of shovelware.)

ok as a 15 year gamer. i have to disagree with the topic statement. i own a 360 and a Wii and i have to say that the wii is better. sometimes i want to take a break from capping off zombie head in L4D, i wanna relax with some Wii Bowling or Mario Party. i enjoy both systems equally, but i like my wii more than my 360.

I also own both, but im tired of defending the wii right now.
Lets just say that the wii was innovative and had success, that isnt a bad thing.

i agree with u completely im sick of these Wii hate threads.

P.S. the Wii is on par to break the PS2's record, by becoming the best selling console of all time. so they must be doing something right.

The Wii & 360/PS3s serve different purposes. For example, the casual games of the Wii made it more fun to play with people who weren't typical big gamers. I was able to bring my Wii to my ex's house and play big games of bowling and Bomberman 93 with her and her family because the controls were simple yet still fun. I would not have been able to bring over my Xbox to play a game of Halo 2 because even if they were okay with the violent content, they'd eventually quit out of frustration trying to figure out and remember all the controls. Wii sells well because you don't need to be a real "gamer" to enjoy it. Remember when you were younger and you'd try to get some older people (> 30 years old) or your parents to try and play a game with you? It wouldn't be worth it because they would always stink at the game and trying to get them to learn it and have fun was like trying to broker a mid-east peace agreement. Wii sells well because it can be easily picked up, unlike the PS3 and 360 which only seem "easy" to us because we've been gaming since audio cassettes were still a valid method of music distribution.

Out of curiosity, what are the ONLY 2 good Wii games you speak of?

Personally, I dislike the Wii simply because the games it provides aren't attractive to me. I want games with depth, immersion, perhaps a good plot and characters, and the Wii doesn't provide that, except for Okami, which I already own on the PS2 (by the way, the PS2 version looks heaps better despite being many, MANY years older).

There's nothing new about prettier graphics. Every generation of consoles has had better graphics than the generation before them. That very much means that the PS3 and 360 are doing the same as before.
the Wii just uses old tech and gets away with it!
Motion sensing. Not old tech in gaming. Honestly.
It literaly has 2 good games but yet its selling quicker than shit off a stick.
No More Heroes, de Blob, Zack and Wiki. That's three very good games right there. I could go on, but I've already disproved your statement.
The other consoles are going where the console industry has never gone
While better graphics could be seen as going further than the industry has gone before, it's very much in the same direction.
and the Wii is at the back just exploiting everyone elses work.
Give me one example of the Wii exploiting someone else's work that helped its success.
The most widespread console is doing little to help the industry, and no one realises Nintendo is diddling everyone out of their hard earn money, WTF?!
I'd say bringing in a large amount of people who would otherwise have never given gaming a second glance a rather good thing for the industry. If you feel you've been conned by buying a Wii then it's your own fault for giving in to hype and buying it in the first place.
If you agree do tell and if you don't erm just sit in that corner over there. :)

How is the Wii not innovative, exactly? How is making available for purchase a twenty year back catalogue from a number of different systems not helping the industry? Please, please break down for me how Nintendo customers are getting "diddled".

Sure the Wii's got it's problems. Taking a step back from courting expensively cutting edge graphics though, to focus on reinvigorating every other aspect of console development was an incredibly refreshing move. All the bolder for knowing there'd be berks such as yourself unable to grasp the changes.

Basically a revolution happened and you were too dumb to notice.

He says "and no one realises Nintendo is diddling everyone out of their hard earn money, WTF?!"
This is hard to justify, considering the prince difference between the Wii and PS3. If one is complaining about hard earned money, you should check the price tags.

Here's the reason the Wii is succesful:

It's family friendly.

Seriously, can you imagine the family having a good ol' wholesome laugh playing a family Gears of War tournament? No, of course not. The Wii is so succesful because it's like the modern day version of a board game. The whole family can gather round and have a bit of light hearted fun with their kids, and they don't have to feel guilty about it either, because they get "exercise" from jumping around like a hyperactive children's TV presenter with a fish finger jammed up his arse.

If this doesn't set off alarms bells, then how about:

If he's on his second 360, it means that he got the RROD. Yet he only briefly mentions it.

There's a word for all this...

If anything, the 360 is the system that is built on older technology. The Wii is actually in fact, trying something new, which is why I bought it. Unfortunate for me, game developers are too incompetent to come up with anything worth playing on it. The Wii is in dire need of a modding community to come up with some ideas. The PS3 so desperately wants to do some new and unique things which is why Sony et al developed the Cell. Its parallel processing capability is nothing short of phenomenal. Furthermore, with Intel's new CPU/GPU hybrid on the horizon which basically takes Sony's cell design and implements it using the familiar x86 architecture which is different but at the same time remarkably similar to how modern CPU/GPU/CUDA/Physx/Havoc operates as a system on a single board, the PS3's unfulfilled potential is where things are actually headed. Too bad Sony mucked up their strategy and over-priced it allowing MS to make headway with the 360 reducing innovation industry wide. The 360 in my opinion is really the system that is holding back the entire industry because it does nothing new nor is capable of nothing new and markets itself to the 75% of the consumer market made up of emotionally sensitive retards (thanks as always Yahtzee).
