Grant awoke with a load groan. "Uhhhgg, my head... that stupid brat... I'll fu... blu...blu...aaggghhhhhh" Grant spit out the rest of his vomit- as well as one of his teeth that had been broken by Zardax- before he started to grin. He was poisoned, tied up, and beaten, but there was something more important to him right now.

He had dreams while he was asleep.

Meanwhile, in the forest to the north, something stood on a tree and looked towards Sawthville. I see you've found me, old friend. We will meet soon.

Vepkhia emitted a low-pitched humming noise, sounding somewhat similar to that a human would make when trying to think. "No. I don't think I'll be doing that. I'd much rather just return home to be honest." It resumed grooming itself, licking the back of its paw and brushing it over its head. "But the problem I run into with that is that I've no idea where I am. There's not even a single native smell of my own here, so I can't even be close right now." It gave off another hum as it continued grooming. "Maybe I can use something of the human's." Vepkhia turned its attention to Roff, seeming like it had forgotten about him and had just been speaking to itself. "You wouldn't happen to know how humans know where they're going, would you?"

"Alright. So, uh... hunting squad," Ribbon said. "I guess I'm with you, and I'm bringing this guy Fahrenheit too - for protection, like -" For protecting me from you, was what Ribbon didn't say, because she didn't want to provoke the cryomancer any further. "And then I guess we're bringing along anyone else who wants to get home. I should see if I can track down Top Guy Lester, he said he came from somewhere not near here."

Grant noticed Zardax burying the body of the German doctor before he turned his attention to Ribbon. "You coward. You could have easily stopped me from killing the healer while my back was to you. His death is on your hands." Grant said to Ribbon, showing his disgust. He spit out more of his blood and vomit at Ribbon before continuing. "And now I don't even need you since the poison boy was the one who put me to sleep. You are useless, Ribbon. Your entire life has no purpose."

Just need to stall a little bit longer and I can get out of these binds. Grant thought. Whoever tied this knows what they're doing.

Robert Sullivan turned his head a few times.
"Well alright." He extended a cane and tapped it along the floor as he walked. He traveled towards the voices.
"Excuse me, does anyone here happen to know a...Lester Grey? I think that's his name."

"Oh, geez, this guy's a dickhead!" Ribbon yelped, then covered her mouth. Grant was dangerously psychotic, but Ribbon felt like she could probably cope with that so long as she could avoid provoking him. It looked like that was going to be difficult, however, because Grant was a fucking asshole.

"Fahren... listen, man, "Mr. Fahrenheit"'s a real mouthful, it's like five syllables, can I just call you Ben or something? Anyway, don't let me talk to this guy. If he says something to me, you've gotta answer for me, 'cause you're less likely to get us killed, alright?" Granted, Ben was pretty hotheaded himself, but he could probably survive a skirmish with Grant. The worst thing that could really happen if those two went at it was that Grant'd end up a puddle on the floor, and Ribbon would have to find a new lead.

"Oh sweet mother of Hong..." Maria said to herself, stumbling out of the frozen truck. She huddled to Tyler and gently tugged his clothes, "Hey, F-Fire-Demon-Dude. I k-know we h-had differ-rences in the past, b-but that can be s-settled if kinda w-warm me up. Not like that! D-Don't get the w-wrong idea!"

While the others were distracted, Grant had frozen the rope used to bind him as well as his own two hands.

"I thought you would have learned by now that I don't like being restrained, especially by peasants such as yourself. Now you will all pay for treating me this way!" Grant shouted before combining the strength of his body as well as his ice manipulation to try and break his bonds.

A loud snap shortly followed, but both of Grant's arms remained behind his back. His face contorted as he quickly inhaled a large amount of air. "AAAHHHHHGG! My arm! Gods damn it I just got it back a few hours ago! OH GODS THIS HURTS!". Grant's arms were both still tied together, but he had succeeded in breaking his right forearm.

Tyler had zoned out for a while, thinking about finding a hairdresser to make himself look more presentable, but then he wondered how he would pay for the service. As he pondered this, Ribbon spoke to him. "Huh? Eh, you can drop the mister if you want. Then there's only, like, three syllables." he said without really breaking from his former train of thought. He then looked down at Maria.

"Ugh, fine. But you better stop flashing me for no damn reason." said as he ignited a little flame in his hand and held it toward Maria.

"Compasses, maps, GPS. Though I'm guessing you don't know what any of that is." Roffe said to Vap.

"Sure thing, Ben. Oh, Madoka! Perfect! I was hoping you'd show up," Ribbon exclaimed. She'd been looking to assemble a slightly larger hunting party. Fahrenheit could almost certainly protect Ribbon from Grant by himself, but Ribbon didn't like that "almost", and Maria had displayed the most combat proficiency out of anyone else Ribbon had bumped into in due memory. In the pizza that was Ribbon's Renegades, Maria could be the thin, easily-perforated cheese atop Fahrenheit's fiery tomato sauce and Ribbon's doughy base. Grant was the corrosive acid that would ideally dry up in the process of eating through the sauce layer, leaving the base layer - Ribbon - unharmed. Ribbon was very hungry.

"Usagi-Chan, let's hang out. We're gonna look for a wizard who can help me and this dude get home. Hell, you might be able to find a way up to Heaven while we're out adventuring." This genuinely wasn't unlikely, although chances were it wasn't going to be a gentle passage.

Grant focused his powers once again, this time using them to set his broken arm back in place and form a makeshift cast. He screamed in pain as he did so, but still the icy splint formed with medical precision after forcing the bones to go back in place.

After pausing to regain his composure, he looked around and saw that nobody had even noticed his escape attempt. That's good. Being humiliated again would be almost too much to bear.

After thinking the words out in his head to make sure he didn't come off as begging, Grant said "Does anyone care to untie me? What about you, pyromancer? Surely you have the heart to not let a fellow master of magic be restrained in such a manner? We all can work together for a common goal, I'm sure."

"Very well... but you will notice that I am the only one that knows where Jantra is, and your only way to get back to where you call home. If you want my help, you will need to release me." Grant said loudly so that everyone could hear.

Grant's voice dropped down to a whisper as he turned to look at Tyler. "You however... I don't know where you're from, but you may want to consider staying here. With your powers, this entire world could be yours to take. It's what I have done in my own world."

Maria was still being warmed by Tyler, so she was still pretty close to him. "I'm not into taking over the world. I trying stopped doing that in 7th grade."

"You can walk with your arms tied." Tyler said to Grant. He then glared at him. "You're really not making me like you any better buddy." Tyler

"You have a lot to learn if you think it matters whether or not people like you. No matter. You will learn in time. " Grant said to Tyler. He got to his feet, before speaking to the entire group.

"If you insist on keeping me in these binds, so be it. Jantra is in the forest to the North. Just know that as Librarian of Memories, it must be me who kills Jantra. Otherwise it will absorb the soul and steal the body of whoever kills it." Grant said as he began to smile.

"Of course, you know nothing about the being known as Jantra, do you? I guess you can keep me tied up if you insist on facing an ancient, immortal being without the help of the one person here who has dealt with it before."
