Winners!

http://blog.prorumors.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/san_francisco_giants.png
I'm not sure if anyone else here cares, but the San Francisco Giants won the World Series. I just wanted to get your thoughts regarding the series as a whole, and its winner.

Personally, I'm happy with the result. I wanted the Phillies to win, but San Francisco was my second choice. Good on them!

So, Escapists...thoughts on the World Series?

Yup. I was hoping for the Rangers, but whatever. I'm not much of a baseball person anyway.

Meh, I wanted the Rangers to win (I'm a Red Sox fan, we always root for the underdog), but I really couldn't care either way. Good for San Fransico though, maybe now I can finally watch TV without every show being aimed at the fact that the world series are going on.

Well the Cubs didn't win, but as long as the Sox or the Yankees didn't either my girlfriend can't be smug about it. :p

Doesn't the whole world have to participate in order for it to be the world series? o_O
I don´t really give a meh... just throwing some logic out there you know.

I am just going to kick back and laugh at the stupidity of having the "world" series limited to america and canada...
Even then, there is only one team from Canada =P and they don't usually fair that well.

Eh, I was rooting for the Rangers, but I'm fine with the Giants winning. As long as the *shudder* Phillies or *shudder shudder* Yankees didn't win, I'm more than happy.

My roommate and I are both happy with the results. The Rays are my home team, as in their stadium is about an hour's drive from where I grew up -- and quite a bit closer to where I'm going to school. The Yankees are my Roommate's home team, and we were annoyed when Texas took out both teams. Serves Texas right to get taken out by San Francisco :p

Yay baseball is over. I guess I am glad the Yankees didn't win but honestly I just can't get myself to care about baseball anymore.

Baseball is a flawed product where the same few times hold a huge advantage over all the others. Football is killing MLB in popularity nowadays. The damne Stealers-Saints sunday night game had higher ratings than game 4 of the World series and were just talking a regular mid season game here.
Football kills Baseball in America only. Baseball is fairly popular in Japan and Cuba and some of the best known players aren't actually from America. Not to mention that by the time the world series comes around, 28 cities stop tuning in because there team has been eliminated. By game 4, only the two remaining cities and dedicated fans tune in anymore.

The Rangers knocked my Yankees out, so I'm glad to see the Giants dominate those meanie heads.
The Giants' pitching is ridiculous. If they improve their hitting even a little over the offseason, they've got a really good chance to repeat.

I am not a huge baseball fan, but my god they need to add a "you can only switch a pitcher once an inning" rule. Those change pitcher commercial breaks killed any interest in the sport I might have ever had.

I feel like I should make a joke about the city of san fransico throwing a parade, but one just won't come to mind.... Eh I'm a Cubs fan only and don't really care who wins if the cubbies aren't in it, but I guess i'll be happy since the NL won because I don't like the AL since it just seems to be the sissified league.
