BB guns do have the one fun feature of being loaded with a crapton of bullets per magazine, so you can pour shot after shot after shot into some schmuck's head before needing to reload. I had a blast using one in New Vegas, on my Hardcore character who was otherwise entirely unarmed/melee.Legion said:Fallout 3 and NewVegas - The BB gun, literally only good for killing radroaches, that can be killed with one hit of anything.
This is what I immediately thought of.chimpzy said:The Bubble Gun from Earthworm Jim 2.
It can't kill enemies. It has no in-game use. It just blows bubbles.
The Crystal shard's awesome, equip it with adrenaline and you can kill everything except robots in one to two hits.vv85 said:Klobb, Goldeneye64 (mandatory mention)
All of the Unreal series infinite ammo weapons were pretty poor, especially the recharging pistol from Unreal 1.
The crystal shard from System Shock 2 - so useless
The anabel BB gun can go 104 damage, comparable to a sniper. THe rolling pin is clasified as useless because even on vary easy mode it cant oneshot the weakest enemy in Fallout new vagas.Legion said:The reason you can't hold it steady is because you lack the points in the relevant skill. The Mass Effect sniper is incredibly powerful.
The Halo plasma pistol is also extremely useful. Not as a direct killer, but the question was about pointless weapons, and it has several vital uses.

It could oneshot from 31 meters and wallbang on core. It was a mid range sniper rifle.WanderingFool said:Off the top of my head?
KSG from Blops 2 (seriously, why the fuck is it a slug gun?)
I enjoyed using the bio rifle actually. Maybe I'm just a freak or something, but I liked it and put it to decent use. Granted it isn't my first choice weapon (flak cannon takes that piece of cake) but I was able to put it to good use.Isalan said:No love for the Bio Rifle from the UT series? Instant switch back to the starting pistol if I grabbed that one.
Grenades from Worms too, though that is specifically in my hands. I CANNOT land a decent grenade to save my life in that game.
I believe this one gives a decent score bonus if used for an assassination. But then again, considering the mantis mask (and drill) is easily unlocked, this added function seems redundant.Blubberburg said:Hotline Miami has a bottle, I don't know why it is in the game but you 'unlock' it (so it starts randomly spawning instead of real weapons) you can't melee with it , if you miss it still breaks and i'm not even sure if it kills a target when it hits them, meanwhile you can throw any other weapon to knock people over and kill them while they on the ground, or shoot them, or punch them over and kill them on the ground without a weapon, melee weapons are insta-kills aswell. Not to mention enemies are normally in groups and you die in one hit so this just sucks.
I LOVED that mask! Got almost all A+ ranks with it since it gives you so many points when you pull it off. Just gets tricky in a crowded room.snave said:I believe this one gives a decent score bonus if used for an assassination. So basically it became the equivalent of throwing a piece of kryptonite at Batman. I hate games that pull that crap.likalaruku said:I seem to recall an RPG where a boss enemy had to be defeated with a sword that had stats significantly lower than the one I was already using. I tried the better sword & sure enough the special sword was the only thing that would kill it. The sword had no further use after that.
I just have it as the secondary shield and swap to it when I think I've cleared most of an area out and don't want to waste an Estus Flask if I've taken damage.MeChaNiZ3D said:EDIT: Oh and the fucking Sanctus. Shield that is meant to regenerate your health, in reality does something like 2HP per 2 seconds and doesn't even heal out poison. Any health regen effects on weapons in Dark Souls are fairly useless, but the Sanctus doesn't even have 100% block, so you'll probably take more damage by not using a better shield than you'll heal thanks to its regen. Shields can be weapons.
