Deus Ex just doesn't really do it for me. There are better shooters out there and better RPGs. I really don't care about hybrids.
That game was given to me recently for the PS2 by a friend. Should i even bother?
Deus Ex or Deus Ex: Invisible War? Invisible War is, by all accounts, horrible. I didn't like the original Deus Ex, but you may, so give it a try.

Fallout 3. It was shit, wearing a colorful shit hat, and particularly warm shit coat. It also was wearing a new fragrance of Shit by Bethesda. My point being, i had never played ANY of the previous games but it as so hyped and it was so well reviewed....I watched about an hour of gameplay footage and it looked amazing. It was absolute SHIT! I dont see why ANYONE would like that game. You get a good 6 hours of main story line. Weak story line at that.

"Oh you didnt bother with the side quests!" You might say. Well, shut up, yes I did. they were dumb. They impacted the world in NO way, shape or form. Most of them being, hey go get this for me, or go kill this person real quick. There was nothing positive to say about that game other than the graphics were decent and the world was immersive........until a person talked to you.
wtf i mean fallout 3 is great art style a bit bland but the voice acting is great, music great, and dlc epic i know its your opinion but seriously.
He doesn't realize some key things...
1. The hype was from Fallout 1-2 Fanboys, not the media or marketer (And coincedentally, it's mostly the Fo1-2 Fanboys who hate Fo3 for really dumb reasons)
2. He is a Sheeple (Sheep person) Because he just quoted Zero Punctuation's review about oblivion ("the graphics were decent and the world was immersive........until a person talked to you."), where it was actually deserved for oblivion, Fallout actually had great, and varied voice acting.
3. Show me a open world RPG with an active combat system, first person view, etc, where all quests effect the game world... you can't! Why? BECAUSE IT WOULD TAKE BLEEDIN FOREVER! The scripting, the new dialouge, the bugs, the glitches! Not to mention changing every undone quest around to fit the new world setup.. And did you not detonate the nuke and see the change it brought to the game? (And the humorousness of the single survivor? XD)
4. He is a Zero Punctuation fanboy. I <3 ZP, but I also disagree with him at times. This person seems to just wholeheartedly agree and nod to everything ZP says FOR ENTERTAINMENT, instead of forming his own opinion. Fallout 3's Ending was subpar, yes. And the VATS made things a bit to easy at times, but all in all, I personally had immense fun with it.

As for an overrated game...

Obvious one is Halo 3. Next is FF7 (It did little new, had a boring storyline written by a retarded 2nd grader...) and Lastly.. I think Red Faction: Guirella got a bit to nice reviews. Destroying stuff was fun, and fights were intense, but you were given to little ammo, and to many enemies to actually enjoy much of anything.

i think some guy on the forum said Shellshocked 2: Blood Trails was a fantastic game. i saw a gameplay video, and it looked AND sounded horrible. the zombies arent scary, story is pure shit, guns sounds like shit and they all look horrible.

overall, it looked like *insert AVGN quote here*

also, Dawn of War 2. its a direct insult to the Franchise if you compare it to DOW: Dark Crusade.

Ocarina of Time.

I love the Zelda games, but I don't get why people are hung up on this game, especially after TP was so much better.

Portal: Couldn't really see the "epicness" in it and since it was only 2 hours with boring extra levels that I rather invest in Team Fortress 2.

Fallout 2: Simply not as good as the first. It was just Fallout 1 with more items with a less interesting story.

Left 4 Dead: Mindless zombieshooter (though with excellent characters) if you just play with strangers without mic. Swedish PC Gamer ranked L4D the 14th best PC Game of all time. At that moment I stopped reading the magazine and started to use it as my new expensive toilet paper.

[small]By the way, can you call yourself a Valve fanboy if you only adore the Half-Life series and Team Fortress 2?[/small]

This may actually have been me. I've got this problem with playing games, calling them great, coming back a few months later and loathing them. Same with Turning Point and Two Worlds.

Anyway, a lot of people said Fable II was "teh b3stest ga3m evvv@r!!"1." I'm sorry, I tried that game three times. All three times, I encountered game-breaking glitches.

Also Resi 5. What a load of outdated crap.

Halo. Mediocre, typical FPS.
Agreed.

I didn't care too much for FF7, but I'm not attempting it's assassination. And I still own 3 Copies of it!
I quite liked the game. Despite the characters I couldn't ever relate to, the muddy story and the brokenness of certain things. I'd ask to buy a copy from you if the damned thing didn't make my eyes bleed with it's "advanced, sophisticated, fully 3D graphics."

As for my nomination? The Force Unleashed. Decent, but overrated.

I'd have to say Half-Life 2 and Portal. With Half-Life 2 its because playing the game feels like a chore. It's not bad, I quite enjoy the setting, I'm just not finding it to be the second coming of Christ everyone seems to keep going on about. With Portal, it's because the game has absolutely no replay value. It was relatively amusing the first time through, but when I tried a second playthrough, I just couldn't get back into it. Between that and everyone on the internet going on about cakes being lies and companion cube, I just don't find it that great.

Halo... Plain, Old FPS with a few fun Online modes... Not the "Milestone" of gaming or anything at all... just a medicore FPS game that got waay over hyped

Kingdom Hearts (specially 2).

Except for the fact that I could see Wonderland in 3D, I really don't enjoy anything else in that game...

The World Ends With You. I explained why in a similar thread. But the jist of it is the spiky haired moron you're meant to identify with, the cliched storyline and the irritating music.
