Honestly the characters did nothing for me. I never got attacthed to any of the characters. That and the story being pretty conveluded(sp?) just led to me not caring about either the story or characters. I was basically just going from point a to point b, not knowing why or for what. I actually learned more about the plot of Half-Life 2 by going back and reading about it later then when I played the game which is kind of sad.kanyatta said:Half-Life, while having above-average gameplay, only really shines if you let yourself immerse in the story and get to know the characters. It gets to the point where it's a lot like reading a good book with a little interactiveness thrown in. Also, for its time, the physics engine was so over-the-top, never-before-seen amazing, which gave it about 3,000 novelty points.Bigeyez said:As much as people love to drool over Half-Life and bash on other shooters, primarily Halo, I had much more fun playing just about any other shooter (Halo, CoD, GoW) then playing HL2 and the DLC.
So basically my enjoyment of the game boiled down to pure gameplay, which was definitely good don't get me wrong, but was soon eclipsed by other games.
