you know the one, the emotion you get when a certain something happens and it's just worse than anything else in thw rold to you?

Mine can only be explained through story:
"Little Johnny knew his parents didn't have much money, but was super excited this birthday because they said they were going to buy him a games console! Johnny was so excited the night before that he couldn't sleep, and the next day he lept out of his rarely made bed and bounded to the living room. Ripping open the wrapping paper on the one and only package on the table, he discovered the 'console' to be nothing more than a cheap K-mart arcade game. Johnny looked at his parents, smiling at him, and he tried and tried to hide his disappoinment"
Hearing or seeing an event like that just breaks my heart. More than anything.

Another example would be any time you see an unused toy, not cared for anymore....Like in the bin.

you guys?

Uhm... The emotion I get or what causes it? I'll do both.

When I get/did get very depressed, I would get this horrid feeling in my chest as if it were hollow and empty. It physically hurt, and yet it didn't. It's the worst feeling in the world and it doesn't help when your outlook on the world gets muffled through hatred and depression.

The last time I was utterly depressed and felt this way was when I still didn't have a meaning in my life. I would have 'sessions' where I'd remind myself of all the things I hate about the world and I'd just wallow in my hatred and depression for a good few days, often feigning normality to those around me, but otherwise being extra silent.

After I finally figured out the purpose for my life that I chose, I've not felt this way since.

I messed something up causing someone else pain, be it physical or emotional. Luckily never emotion but I have physical. Bump to the head, he was ok but still it could have been worse.

man that story is heartbreaking... I've got one from when I was a kid... I hate it, but at the same time I was really too young to understand it..

One day my mom came home on her lunch to pick me and my sister up, she wanted to take us to get a family portrait. We hated pictures, I hated dressing up, so we both threw a huge fit and ruined the pictures. She got pictures of her kids with tears in their red eyes, fresh from throwing a pointless fit. All she wanted was a picture of the kids she loved so much, and we were complete little shits.

Years later, when I was older, I remembered this and decided to make up for it... I wrote my mom a song for Christmas, sang it to her, and then took her to get family pictures.

Guilt. Of any kind. Especially guilt from something that you did in a time of weakness. I hate guilt. That's the worst I've experienced thus far (I haven't felt loss yet so I'm lucky).

Going to the grocery store and seeing those cheap one-dollar toys. Depresses me like you wouldn't believe.

The worst feeling, for me, was finding myself to without a job, without money, with a mental illness, few friends, family over the other side of the country and cash-strapped anyway... No plans, no future, no help, no one to care.

It's happened to me before. It hurts like hell; the fear and the loneliness.

Just... just go and give your loved one a hug. Now. Or text them, whatever floats your boat.

Trying to remember the name of that irish lad on these forums who watched those two soldiers get gunned down. Wonder if he felt his heart about to explode in his chest and his genitals try to retract into his body cavity when he saw it. The whole adrenaline feeling is pretty rotten when you think about it after.

Being in love... and being unable to be with the one you love... for whatever reason. Be it distance, family, society, or them being unable to love you...

It just hurts your heart... Knowing there's almost nothing you can do about it.

Realising when you stop caring about the world, you become a lot happier.

This may sound odd, and compared with all the other horrible feelings one could list, this one just stands out the most to me; my general lack of trust.

I've always had trust issues. But one dumb son-of-a-***** that I used to call a friend escalated them ten-fold. I don't even shake hands anymore. I trust my family, sure. Well... most of them anyway. But the sheer fact that I can barely look someone in the eye without judging them in an instant, hurts like you wouldn't believe.

Dammit, thanks for bringing that up again. Can't do anything else than agree with you. Hurts like a ************. Worst is, I don't want to give it up, knowing I'll never ever find someone like her again.

I wouldn't say this was the worst feeling in the world, not compared to what other people have said anyway, but it's the only one thats come to my head.

Did that speed camera just flash at me? Doesn't happen to me very often but when it does i live in fear for two weeks. Still got a clean license though.
