The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Bad writing, bad gameplay, bad controls, bad level design, bad art direction, and a sea of technical errors. Oh, and pedophilia.
In short, that game was BAD. And creepy.
Them's fightin' words. I get that this topic is all subjective, but to call a Zelda game, ANY Zelda game the "worst game ever made" is barbecueing a sacred cow. And inferring that Twilight Princess involved in pedophilia? Sir, that kind of accusation is something you can't throw out there without explanation, so I'd like to ask for one.
Worst game ever made... conventional wisdom has already named the most likely candidates: E.T. for the Atari 2600, Superman 64, Aquaman, etcetera.
However, if I had to name the worst game ever that I've had the displeasure to play, I must unfortunately point at Batman: Vengeance. I say unfortunately because the art was in the unmistakable style of the 90's animated series, AND included all the voices that I'd grown up with, up to and including Mark Hamill as the Joker. The dialogue of all the characters were spot on with what I remember of the cartoon, down to the chilling heartlessness of Mr. Freeze.
So why do I claim it to be the worst game I've ever played? Because the gameplay was so horrendously broken, it was all but unplayable. Fighting and movement was stiff if you had practice, coupled with the game-breaking difficulty virtually guaranteed even the most headstrong and stubborn gamer wouldn't get past the halfway point. But that wasn't quite what ruined it for me: Those voice actors, those artists who recreated the characters, they deserved a better game! Yes, the actors got that game in Arkham Asylum, but it just wasn't the same.
