What about religion? The deaths that have been caused by religion pale in comparison to communism. (I won't even get on the part that communism has been around for a tiny fraction of that of religion as well).
I can cite exact numbers if you wish of the deaths caused by Communist countries vs the biggest atrocities of religion. Let me know if you want to try this argument with me, you will lose, the numbers are there.
that is just a stupidest thing ive read all day, communism has been around since karl marx, religon, not just the big killer christianity, but religon in general has been killing ppl for thousands of year. the 6 million jews killed during the holocaust, the untold thousands apon thousands that were killed during the crusades, the catholic church has been condoning the killing of people over religon since christianity was made the offical religon of the roman empire by emperor Constantine in the third century. i study religon so try to tell me i dont know what im talking about.
Easy, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
I suppose someone was going to actually try and debate this, unfortunately for your e-pride it is going to be you.
Over the 200 years of the Crusades (which were political in nature, not religious, but I'll still give it to you) there were anywhere from conservative estimates of 200,000 to 1.2 million.
The Spanish Inquisition lasted 345 years, and killed a total of 3,230 people. That is less than American casualties in Iraq, and in MUCH less time. It too, was more political in nature in its creation but became less so later on. Even if we add the Portuguese Inquisition at 1,175 deaths, and the combined death toll of all the Medieval Inquisitions (estimated at 2,000 total) it is becoming apparent that these totals are far less than the perceived notion. The other two Inquisitions mentioned also lasted for more than 250 years.
So we move on to the Holocaust, which was not religious in nature at all, but by a twisted ideology and cannot in anyway count for religion killing people, however, religious people certainly were the victims. You also mentioned Constantine, he fought multiple wars although not all of them were for religion, but politics. I don't have the numbers of deaths in his wars nor those against Christians by the Romans, I can search or you can provide your own numbers.
Even the Aztecs killed far less, and is estimated to be 1 million or less in the centuries that they reigned. Lastly, you could name the infamous witch hunts, which is guessed at around 100,000 deaths.
So let us move on to communism, shall we?
From R. J. Rummel I have gotten the following statistics, and I'll just mention the four communists dictators he mentions, which should be plenty enough.
Mao Zedong is estimated to have killed 77 million people
Joseph Stalin is estimated to have killed 43 million people
Pol Pot is estimated to have killed 2 million people
Vladimir Lenin is estimated to have killed 4 million people
You seem to believe anyone that has a religion that kills someone else automatically makes it because of their religion, that is incredibly false. Most wars in this world, from ancient Greeks to now, are caused by tribalism. If we were to use your logic, then anyone who has ever "shared" anything with anyone else in the world, and then killed someone, did it because of communism. Does that make sense? Of course not. You truly need to learn more about what you are talking about before you speak (or type, in this instance).
