Hello fellow Escapees!
I feel that I must vent a bit, please excuse the potential Wall O'Text that may be coming.
I thought that I had the worst job ever. I worked in a gas station in my town, and it was miserable. The employees other than the kids my age were all miserable people, the people who came in loved to hassle young kids and give us grief, and it was just an awful place to work. I mean, for the love of god I once had to drag 65lbs of raw, rotten meat out of a trash bin that someone had dumped because they didn't feel like lifting it into the dumpster.
I thought that that was the worst job I've ever had. I was VERY wrong.
I have been employed all summer at a certain [bankrupt] amusement park (which shall remain nameless since apparently they troll the internet looking for employees that give them a bad name) but I will say this; their mascot is a certain dancing geriatric old man and I'm located in the newer version of England. Anyways, have you ever had a job so bad that you can't stand dragging your ass in? This place is like that. I get micromanaged by protocol to a ridiculous extent. I can't even count my own money, no joke, I was simply organizing my money on my first day of work and one of the people who deal with employees who steal came over and gave me a warning. ON MY FIRST DAY.
Now, I work in the games department, which doesn't sound so bad, until you realize that you're working 10 hour shifts regularly in the sun dealing with people who are pissed off in general at the price of everything in the park. The supervisors are all pretty cool but the managers take their jobs at a summer amusement park way too seriously. I got yelled at by a manager for leaving my stand to get a supervisor so they could call first aid when a woman passed out in front of me from heat exhaustion. Their first reaction to what I did was "Oh, you shouldn't have left your prizes unattended" which is utter crap since they didn't give me a phone or a radio or anything. We can't have cellphones on us at all, in fact we get fired for having one out on the midway.
My last gripe with this place is that they treat all employees like criminals from the first day. We get audited twice a day to make sure our money balances out, which is fine, but I'm not sure where they think I'll stuff my money since OUR UNIFORM PANTS DONT HAVE POCKETS. This place really pisses me off, which is why I just put in my 3 week notice today. I almost passed out because I was in the sun all day and no body brought me water, which they're supposed to do.
Sure, the people are nice, but it's such a bullshit job it's not even worth trying to go back to. After this summer, I'm done and moving on to bigger and better things.
So, my question to you guys and gals is this;
What is the worst job you've ever worked, and why was it the worst.
Also, I search barred this, and the last thread about this died a month ago.
