The Worst Job You've Ever Had

Hello fellow Escapees!

I feel that I must vent a bit, please excuse the potential Wall O'Text that may be coming.

I thought that I had the worst job ever. I worked in a gas station in my town, and it was miserable. The employees other than the kids my age were all miserable people, the people who came in loved to hassle young kids and give us grief, and it was just an awful place to work. I mean, for the love of god I once had to drag 65lbs of raw, rotten meat out of a trash bin that someone had dumped because they didn't feel like lifting it into the dumpster.

I thought that that was the worst job I've ever had. I was VERY wrong.

I have been employed all summer at a certain [bankrupt] amusement park (which shall remain nameless since apparently they troll the internet looking for employees that give them a bad name) but I will say this; their mascot is a certain dancing geriatric old man and I'm located in the newer version of England. Anyways, have you ever had a job so bad that you can't stand dragging your ass in? This place is like that. I get micromanaged by protocol to a ridiculous extent. I can't even count my own money, no joke, I was simply organizing my money on my first day of work and one of the people who deal with employees who steal came over and gave me a warning. ON MY FIRST DAY.

Now, I work in the games department, which doesn't sound so bad, until you realize that you're working 10 hour shifts regularly in the sun dealing with people who are pissed off in general at the price of everything in the park. The supervisors are all pretty cool but the managers take their jobs at a summer amusement park way too seriously. I got yelled at by a manager for leaving my stand to get a supervisor so they could call first aid when a woman passed out in front of me from heat exhaustion. Their first reaction to what I did was "Oh, you shouldn't have left your prizes unattended" which is utter crap since they didn't give me a phone or a radio or anything. We can't have cellphones on us at all, in fact we get fired for having one out on the midway.

My last gripe with this place is that they treat all employees like criminals from the first day. We get audited twice a day to make sure our money balances out, which is fine, but I'm not sure where they think I'll stuff my money since OUR UNIFORM PANTS DONT HAVE POCKETS. This place really pisses me off, which is why I just put in my 3 week notice today. I almost passed out because I was in the sun all day and no body brought me water, which they're supposed to do.

Sure, the people are nice, but it's such a bullshit job it's not even worth trying to go back to. After this summer, I'm done and moving on to bigger and better things.

So, my question to you guys and gals is this;

What is the worst job you've ever worked, and why was it the worst.

Also, I search barred this, and the last thread about this died a month ago.

Running the fry station in a kitchen that runs well over 100*F for 7 hours. On a side note I also live in the newer version of England, what part of the newer England are you in?

Internet tech support. There's only so much rampant stupidity I can take, not to mention abuse.

Deja Vu anyone?

OT: Worst job i've had was working personal protection for an overly paranoid executive. He felt the need to be protected from nothing, he was a low ranking executive who wanted to impress his bosses by having armed guards. We only protected him for one week before we canceled the contract but it was a terribly boring week.

I once worked at a bus depot where I would have to get up at oh-dark-thirty to pump diesel for a few hours while breathing exhaust and listening to retarded bus drivers ***** at me for not being part of the union. On my first day I had to pull dead rats out of an old waste oil tank. Luckily the place burned down 3 weeks later and I quit. It was like the end of the movie Office Space.

when i lived in CT, i had a temp job as a tax perparer. the office was one of those afterthoughts put inside a former local grocery. i swear that the dude who owned the place was a pimp. i spent 12 hours a day having to explain how taxes worked to the dumbest set of assholes on god's green earth. to make things worse, these fucking crackwhore, welfare cases often complained about their return being too low. ************ YOU JUST GOT BACK YOUR GODDAMN ANNUAL INCOME, WHAT THE FUCK MORE DO YOU WANT?!?!?!? I also had to put up with them bitching about the fee charged. yeah ,asshole it costs money to have someone else do your return, it also costs money to get your money right now. anyway that was my worst job, i think mopping the floors at a peepshow would be better than that job.

Oh man, I bet that was horrible, but I laughed when I saw that, I'm sorry.

OT: McDonald's. At 17 they had me with all the illegals in the back cooking food, and I burned my hand twice on the grill. The scars look kinda cool, but I could've done without the pain.

And people who order fast food are usually stupid as hell, so they got on my nerves really quick.

Me being 15, and only having done my 'work experience', I'd have to go with that.

Ok. Working from 8 - 5 a day, mon-fri, in a warehouse, with no pay. Thank god it was only two weeks.

Looking for a job is my worst job ever. Trying to find a seasonal job two weeks after most of the other colleges have gotten out in this economic climate? Ugh.

Every job I apply too theirs always like 5 or 6 other people way more qualified than I am...

Oh, crappy Jobs, 12 hour days on the Red River in Moorhead Minnesota when it flooded, Well I volunteered and got all the food I could eat and got to spend the nights in a Church. I was on an Outward Bound trip when it happened, so where all like: "Better than canoeing the boundary waters"
