No hats on your person in any way. My friend got suspended the first day of school for having a hat in his hands.

The one *I* had to endure was at school as well - we weren't allowed to actually have cellphones with us; not even in between lessons. Teachers could grab your phone if you were using it inside, even during break time. On the bright side, half the teachers thought this was a retarded rule and they'd usually just act like they didn't see it if they happened to catch you with a phone (unless it was during a lesson of course).

That really wasn't too bad though - we used to have 'test weeks' where we'd... have tests... all week. This in itself isn't bad, but the lower classes were forced to attend 2 (completely wasted) hours of lessons prior to having 1 or 2 tests rather than having the rest of the day off. I can barely blame the school for that though, it was a ministry enforced rule.

Public urination, hold on now hear me out....

If I"m away from people, in an alley or something, or concelaed by bushes, why can't I take a leak without getting a ticket or worst case being arrested and charged for indescent exposure? Seriously all other creatures created by the gods piss outside! I should be able to as well. It's only natrural.
If you get caught, you are obviously not well concealed or away from people.

While I never had to endure this one since I'm not a guy, I still call BS on it: Male students at my high school weren't allowed to wear earrings. Not at all. Ridiculous double standard, there. Apparently in the south, only girls are allowed to wear earrings.

The dress code also tried to include a silly policy about having shirts tucked in, but after about a month the administrators more or less gave up cracking down on most people. At least we didn't have uniforms, though. I think they'd have really liked to have put that into effect.

Also this. Cell phone in your hand before classes? ISS for 3 days. Not taking up the phone, In-School Suspension. For three days. You didn't even have to be talking on it.

I was once running through the hallway because I was late for class. If you were late for this teacher's class, she would lock you out and wouldn't check your homework. This happened to me frequently, and I was losing marks because of it. This particular time, I accidentally bumped into a teacher. He spilled scalding hot coffee all over my bare arm, and I had to go get paper towels from a bathroom halfway across the school to clean it up. My school has HORRIBLE placement of bathrooms. Anyway, I got locked out. But seriously, some of the horror stories I'm reading are WAY better than mine.

Elementary - We couldn't play tag since we might hurt each other. So we just continued playing it, only whoever was "IT" was something else, like a "Velociraptor" or whatever else our little minds could come up with.

Middle School - I was given detention for copying down the agenda in my planner incorrectly (I just summarized the information)

Middle School - This happened to a friend. The teacher said not to leave their seats. He had the bad luck to stand up to get a pen from his pocket as she walked in. Detention.

Any time a teacher is right by playing the "I'm an adult/the teacher" card.

And uniforms. My wacky shirt is disrupting the learning process!

Also cell phone rules are broken. I've had a phone taken away because my MUM called me a few minutes before school was over, but there are a million stupid girls texting in class who never even get caught. They text each other constantly and are essentially just taking up space. Their phones should be taken away and smashed to pieces with a hammer in front of the class.

At the last school I went to, they had a strict rule that stated, and I quote, "All students must refer to superiors as 'Sir' and 'Ma'am."

I refused and I was expelled for it.

That's right. [b/]EXPELLED[/b] not suspended, for not calling some retard "Sir." The day I left was the day I told my teachers to go fuck themselves.

Oh, and smoking laws are getting odd now. I can completely understand not having smoking inside bars, restaurants or whatever, but now where I'm from, they don't even let you light up on the deck, which you know, is OUTSIDE, and well away from the door. Oh, and I think you also have to be ten feet away from public entrances while smoking in public, which in some cases would force you into the road, if it were actually enforced it.
Where abouts you in canada? Where im from my stupid city has passed a by law that you can not smoke, on city property.

Universal Suffrage.

It annoys Me greatly that someone without any Knowledge of Current Events or How to Run a Nation has the Same Political Weight as one who has spent his whole life studying the Subject.

The phrase "Because I said so!" comes to mind. Other than that I would have to say most of the rules inside of a grade school/high school building. They are for the most part arbitrary, annoying, overly enforced and god help you if you break one of them.

Holy crap the EXACT thing happened to me, one minute from the last bell and my mom calls me, luckily I was on good terms with the teacher so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

Ah the lovely zero-tolerance policy for fighting in school, now I'm usually not all that violent, though I apparently appear to be...moving on, I usually don't fight but damn it if ya don't expect to be hit don't talk shit and don't try to hit me. Alas the administration saw it differently though.

I hate the "you have to give your address details to the other driver at the scene of an accident" law.

FUCKING STUPID.

I was involved in an accident, and that detail just isn't necessary for the other bloody driver. They're not even supposed to contact you during the whole process. My fucking insurance have my address if it's that badly needed. I got harrassed from the other driver so much during the crap that followed my accident, and knowing he could type my postcode into a Sat Nav and find my house scared me to death. How many psychopaths are out there, and how many would turn up outside a house and damage the property, or worse, the people inside, if the claim didn't go their way?!

So yeah. Phone number: fine. Address? I don't bloody think so.

Insulting moderators gets you banned. This happened on another forum, I have yet to see any corruption in the moderators on the Escapist. I was being insulted for days by moderators on the Unforgotten Realms forums. They would edit my posts for their own enjoyment. They demanded 100% respect from all members al the time, meaning if you disagreed with them on anything you would be in trouble. They roamed the forums like regular posters, only with mod powers. After getting tired of kissing the feet and walking on eggshells I finally called one of the mods out for abusing his powers, and got banned.

Several months later and I couldn't care less that I got banned. It's like being in a prison where the guards are assholes. The only difference is that when you disbehaive, you get let out rather than punished. I still refuse to watch Unforgotten Realms as the creator Robert Moran stood by his mods' abusive power. That, and the classic UR episodes were better than the first two seasons, imo.
