When I hear this song I start to travel between being scared and laughing my arse off
This is a really good oldies song when sung by someone like Nick Lucas, but yeah this version is awful.

Bah, ninja'd. I also find the hatred for Ke$ha amusing, considering I play her somewhat frequently, or rather use to.

Edit: Hah, two other artists in Lady Gaga and Paramore I fancy I have been mentioned. Oh my music taste would horrify some here due to the immense randomness of it.

A few months ago a girl tried to get me into MGMT. It didn't take. That might be the single worst musical act I've ever heard. I couldn't name one of their songs---it's "that one that sucks", "that one that makes my ears bleed", and "if you link me to this band one more time, by the gods, I will come to your house and beat you."
Do you mean their electro-pop stuff or their "hey we're pretending to be the Beach Boys" stuff?

Besides, this issue was already decided by poll and the answer was "MacArthur Park."

... it is a feat of epic proposition when I dislike a song, because I listen to literally everything and generally have a huge tolerance, even for bad music. This... this is beyond words.

Either death metal/screamo or....

This one.
You know what the worst thing about this song? (Other than the fact it's just 3 other songs thrown together with different lyrics.) It was in the charts for fucking weeks, and my mum and brother insist on listening to a station that played it every second song.

Great song, honestly here. She does have a good voice, I don't what you are on about. I can't think of anyway you can class that as being a bad voice? What is it about it that's bad? It's a good song, so what if it's mainstream pop music. Mainstream doesn't mean shit and neither does pop.
It's the chorus, I find it grating. The long drawn out parts where she goes "ooooooh" just hurts my brain and I just don't like with the chorus, the melody sounds horrible and the lyrics are just as bad, I mean "big lights will inspire you"? That's got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. And no, it's not that I don't like it because it's popular, I'm very fond of quite a few popular songs; Katy Perry's "California Gurls" for example is one I find to be catchy, nicely arranged, tidy and upbeat (would be significantly improved if they removed Snoop Dogg from it though, I find him bland as a rapper and mostly collaborates with female singers to inject fake "coolness" into songs that just don't need it), but Empire State Of Mind" falls flat for me. Is it really so bad that I don't like this one song? Why is it a crime to have an opinion these days? Sheesh.

I particularly hate Lady Gaga, Kesha and Katy Perry, three in particular who are completely unoriginal and use sex and alcohol with autotune. People seem to think they're the new Beatles or something though. Oh my god! Lady Gaga is wearing a hat that looks like a nose! What an amazing musician! *rages*

My most hated song though is I've Got A Feeling by Black Eyed Peas.
Their really early stuff was actually quite good hip-hop, then Fergie joins and turns them into something horrible. this song in particular is one everyone loves but to me it's just the epitome of making music purely for money and not art.

Lady Gaga is actually quite a talented musician. Just because she knows how to market herself doesn't detract from her musical ability.

New country music is something I despise 99.999% of the time, so I normally avoid it. Once, I went to Washington, D.C. with my sister and the only station we could pick up through whatever area of West Virginia we were traveling through was a station for said genre. After the first song, we turned it off, but it ended up being my number-one, least favorite song of all time: Drinking Bone by Tracy Byrd.

I hate it mainly for the following lyrics:

The drinkin' bone is connected to the party bone
The party bone's connected to the stayin' out all night long
And she won't think it's funny
And I'll wind up all alone
And the lonely bone's connected to the drinkin' bone

However, the entire song is god-awful.

Actually, Black Eyed Peas formed in the early 90's. Fergie joined in the early 00's.
