Got to see Pendulum, Hadouken!, House of Pain and Asian Dub Foundation live all in 2 days. I'm quite proud I worked enough to ensure that free time + money.

Met my gf, ex now, for the first time last summer. Got to see her only 2 time's but those 2 days were absolutely amazing :) easily the best thing this year. Why is it an accomplishment? I had wait 2 and half years to meet her, when we first hooked up. Had a lot of things happen during that time.
Does that really count as a GF if you only met two times ?

OT: i moved in with my gf ( after 3months of dating ) we have been together a year , and thigs are still going well . She wants to get married at some point . So i guess i acomplished finding someone that loves me for me and that can endure my personality !

Other than that,i made friends with my hot new boss , we get along really well , so i don't even have to kiss her ass to get extra priviledges ! (Although i'd litterally kiss her ass is she asked me to). Plus she says im her favorite .

Began my first relationship, had sex for the first time. Something of a connection between those two things, obviously, but all the same!

I finally changed my daily food in such a way that i'm loosing weight just like that, without having to fight over every kilo. 12 kilos lost this year and counting ... i'm actually looking healthier than i did 10 years before.

Well done to all the higher education/further ed/graduates types. Always difficult to focus for that (especially after a few years). And congrats to all the newfound exercise enthusiasts.

Me - everything else has gone badly (dog died, family members with dementia, got fired from work etc.), but I completed a 20 mile run earlier in the year, beat all my personal bests in every distance I've run previously, and I'm looking forward (not necessarily the right phrase) to a full marathon distance next year. Maybe some ultra runs too as the year goes on. Not bad for someone with a rugby players build who is just sooooo lazy and has a penchant for booze.

I...

Thought when I was coming into the thread that I was going to post something about having achieved nothing. But then I gave it a moments thought. You know what?

I detoxed totally from a hell of a lot of drugs and went cold turkey for 6 strait months. This year my achievement is only smoking green once a few months ago. Since January the first I have shared two joints over the course of 12 hours with my sister. That is it. Considering this time last year I was as high as a kite on a mixture of horse tranquilizers, uppers and everyone's favorite, the good old herb, that is one hell of an achievement. Hell, I barely even drink these days.

'Getting over' a suicide attempt and making an effort to combat an eating disorder, attachment issues and severe depression, along with getting into a very highly-rated college. Been a wonderful year. :)
Gonna say, that kinda outdoes my super detox. Props to you, person. ED's are hard to deal with, attachment issues (And associated things like paranoia and the like) are horrible to live with.

No, seriously, props to you, person.

I take my hat off to you.
Thankyou. :) Each step in the 'mental health' kind of area is one hell of an achievement - a while back, around half my friends were drug addicts and none had the courage to do what you did, it's no easy task for sure!

Got a specific woman to say "yes"

... since some of you likely have dirty minds, it's not the dirty "yes" the more respectable one

Came out as a homosexual, good times.
Good for you man
Thanks bro. That helped me feel good about me'self.
while i think its awesome that u did that i have 1 question , why does society have such a problem with homosexuality?
Muiltiple answers, one is against religious beliefs. Another is the irrational fear that Homosexuals find them attractive, or can't relate to Homosexuality since its feeling deep love for another man, which they can't relate too.

Many times, it just comes down to being different. Its literally child hood bullies just growing into bigots because they refuse to just let people be. Its like hating black guys, or people of other religion, is simply because their different.

I guess it all comes down to religion after all. The bible states marriage as between a man and a woman, however, also states that you can marry your brother's widow, become a polygamist and that female slaves must put out to male slaves. Not once does God say that Gays are evil / bad / sinful but due to describing marriage as what it is, followers just take it as ONLY between men and women.

I have not read the Bible myself so can't give you much more then what I have heard or think, but its somewhere along the line of 'Not understanding it.' 'Religious reasons.' and 'Generally being different.' I don't care what people think of me, especially people of religion. If you want to follow a book thats a giant hypocrite, made all the way in the past and still follow it without reading, then by all means, humiliate selves, but its a different thing to read the bible and to understand the bible.
hmm well i think the bible is just one of the most misinterpreted books ever so i dont really think that the "anti-gay" christians have any ground to stay on , i dont think they are following the bible but try to find an excuse to bash on homosexuality

Hm, I started srewing the rules. Wearing gloves and jewellery in class, listening to my iPod infront of teachers, forgetting homework, being late, hacking into the schools WiFi, and despite me doing all of this, NONE OF THE TEACHERS DID ANYTHING.
Apparently, if you give the impression that you're a hardworking, smart, rule abiding youngster, the teachers are too busy being surprised to notice you're actually the child rebel of the century.

Well I did my GCSEs...

[looks at grade sheet]

...Never mind, it was a weak year.

Seriously: I got a job. Go me.

Edit: Screw all that, I went to Sonisphere Festival and saw Slipknot and Motorhead. Best day ever.
