Did the OP think we'd throw our arms in the air and curse about losing the game or something?, because I don't think it worked.

Getting cross at "losing the game" is a meme in itself.... I used to play the game back in the 90's, back when the internet was just porn and Star Trek.

Uhm... I'm sorry, what is this game everyone is talking about??
Its basically a game whereby you win by not thinking about the game, so the minute someone mentions The Game, you lose, so you can't win it, because the thought of winning makes you lose. It irritates competitive people but the reaction to losing the game has become a meme.
No, I didn't expect you to 'Throw your arms in the air and curse'.

I DO, however intend to follow the generalized rule-set of The Game, and inform others of whenever I lose.
I, personally, may not take The Game seriously, and follow it mostly as a means of watching others reactions, but if I intend to take any part, no matter how miniscule, in it's playing, I will play the same way everybody else does.

"The Game" stopped being even mildly amusing for me about two years ago.

I haven't heard it in quite some time now.

Thanks for ruining that.

It's one of the few memes I think should die and never be resurrected.
The simplest solution to The Game dying is not commenting about it at all.

I'm rather a fan of the reactions I get to witness when people lose, which is why I'm taking part in it's playing.

I don't mention The Game if I haven't thought about it, but when I do, I play by the rules and tell people I just lost.

So people seriously do care about The Game? Wow...
Well... THESE people may care about it, but as per several earlier comments, I'm just in it for reactions.
I play by the rules simply because there's no fun in running around screaming 'I lost the Game'.
Whenever I come across something that reminds me of The Game, I follow the rules and tell others., if I never think of The Game again after this, then I never think of it again.

Besides, you CAN choose whether or not to actually PLAY The Game, simply by not saying whenever you lost it. After a while, you'll completely break any habit of saying 'I lost The Game' at all, and then you'll be free.

No its not, telling others that you lost The Game was a by product of people wanting other's to lose The Game as well, it was never part of the rules, its merely human nature wanting other's to fail as well.

You lost the game? WHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Sorry. It's just that I'm the only person I know of who can WIN the game. See, I don't care if I lose, and derive enjoyment whenever someone loses. Meaning I win whenever someone else loses. :p So thanks for the win.
You're absolutely welcome! :)

If winning the game means not caring whenever you lose... then I won as soon as I started playing, and have continued winning ever since.
I play The Game primarily as a means to see peoples reactions, and I only pull the 'Aww... I lost The Game' because the rules state as much. If I'm going to participate, I'm going to follow the rules, simple as that.

If you want to turn this into a psychology class, be my guest, but I wasn't introduced to The Game until WELL after the rule-set had become generalized, and I don't intend to break the rules now.

If I'm going to play, I'm going to play by the rules.

There is no sporkgame.
Not technically, no, but it's fun to see the reactions of people who care about losing.

I almost got punched in the face once. Luckily they missed.
