I'm good where I'm at my cousin who is currently living with us has quite a few guns. So we wait for a few days till everyone evacuates, and start looting neighboring houses for all our supplies. If the neighbors are still there we either avoid them or take it by force. And to keep vehicles from getting on our road we just barricade the entrance of our road. We live a steep slope so the only easy vehicle access in the street.

Why is my captcha making me type Choose DISH? I had dish once I didn't like it. Rain or random cloud=goodbye signal.
Also I live in Madison Alabama. We have Redstone Arsenal like 10 minutes away at a leisurely drive. So I'm prolly good.

Balls meant to edit my post and happened to hit quote. DAMN YOU 3 AM POSTING!

I already have a little plan set up.
If I'm home alone, I grab a metal pole I have in my drawer then I go to my friends' and cousin's houses and get them and as many cars as we can. Since we live in Australia, guns are rare, but I have the route to the nearest gun shop mapped out, so we go there.
We then hit supermarkets, petrol stations and milk bars to get as much food, drink and petrol we can.
Then survive and try to group up with other survivors. Hopefully, strength in numbers.

Unfortunately, I assume most things, especially the gun shop and supermarkets, will have been raided by then, so we won't have many supplies at the start. Just like DayZ!

The local supermarket with it's metal sliding doors (Solid metal, not that grating shit) with three others I have planned with. We will lock the place down and kill anyone that tried to get in. Survival trumps 'need to keep our humanity'.

I'd get a group of people some weapons and walk up the local mountains. The only way I could get a gun is from an army barracks so that's out. It's melee time. When food became an issue I'd go kill those foolish park dwellers

My dad owns several firearms, and there are tons of stores nearby that sell ammo, making protection basically a non-issue. We'd just hunker down and kill all sons of bitches, to the best of our ability.

I see myself having a pretty high chance of survival, honestly.

I live right next to a huge cave system with a sinkhole going straight down to the main cavern. The nearest actual entrance is quite small, almost too small for any normal human to enter. If I had to, I'd simply repel into the cave, find a section that's easily defendable and live off the surrounding water and wildlife.

Run into the woods... wait I live in a desert, with no fire arms, well I can run and climb fast but generally I'm screwed.

It's most likely that I will hide in my house, there's plenty of food, room, aluminum blinds and blunt objects.

I live in a relatively depopulated area filled with gun toting rednecks. First stop: Pawn shop to get a gun. Second stop, food. Finally, the bay to get a houseboat. Wait until the 4 foot snowfall in winter, the zombies will freeze be shattered by the snowplows.

We're assuming these zombies can't swim and aren't the World War Z kind, right?

Honestly I would stay here in my room and hide. Probably find something that could be used as a weapon.

To avoid at least some silliness, clarify a few points;
1. What kind of zombies we talking about here? Sprinty 28 days later zombies or the more traditional Romero-esqu slow but harder to kill/never die from starvation type?
2. Has it reached a point of global infection (infesting every major city with over a million people for example)?

I live in Western Australia, not really short of remote areas to go to, I'd probably gather what family and friends I could find, raid a hardware store for weapons and a supermarket for food then haul ass to the closest country town (probably a three hour drive to one that is small enough to not have been hit yet) and reinforce its buildings along with the locals.
As a north Perth CBD resident (and stoner); we have discussed this many times. You would find small communities would most likely turn away most refugees, there are a few gun shops but 99% of all zombie plans include them. On the plus side, due to urban sprawl the ZPM (zombie per meter) would be low... you know unless you live in Maylands. Oh, but if you lived in Maylands you could put on a cardboard box with a large pop-tart decal on either side and pretend to be Nyan Cat. All the guys in rainbow clothes chasing you...

Grab Katana, head on over to the SASR depo on my Ninja, collecting my riding pack along the way. If SASR intact, relax knowing protected by best Special Forces Team in the world; if not intact scavenge base for weapons and MREs. Steal Toyota Hylux and as many jerry can's as I can find. Head on up to Yanchep's (Probably where the infection originated... that or Maylands) police station. Small and quite fortified. First three weeks solved.

You would then need to start considering reliable food supplies, but there is a bit of agriculture land out that way anyway.

*captcha: vegan diet ... what a helpful suggestion captcha, but roo meat is pretty tasty

Me and my friends actually discussed this one. We live in Lincoln, so we'd quickly raid the local hospital for a few medical supplies, grab anything that could be used as a blunt instrument, quickly raid a local supermarket for basic food supplies to last us a bit, and start following the river out of lincoln. It'll be remote, with a few farms along the way, but we also won't get lost.

We were at first going to take a boat, but decided best not to attract attention with the noise.

OT: Library with two floors and destroy the stair cases.

You laugh now, but a library has massive amounts of useful information that will not be available other ways once the power grids go down.
Plus you could drop the more shittier books onto the heads of zombies a floor below or, worse comes to worse, use them as kindling for a nice fire.

Hmmm, Shitty Book Burning

I'd whip out my Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks and see. Which means i'm probably gonna try and escape to the countryside and hole up somewhere out there in a barren area which as much supplies as I can and as few people as possible.

Or i'l hole up in my house or one of my friends houses, gather all the supplies we can and take them to the highest floor of the house, we then destroy the stairs and barricade the top of them.

Block the downstairs doors and windows, fill up the bath and sink upstairs take all food that won't go off anytime soon, destroy the stairs as I go up (when was the last time you saw a zombie jump?) have a cuppa tea and wait for all this to blow over.

Stay in my house and panic and go insane.
Which, by the way, is what's gonna happen to most of you too.
well, i'll panic, wake up everyone else in my house, and the neighbors. grab some knives and other blunt objects (like some golf clubs and wooden swords), grab the canned food, and hoof it out to the suburbs. from there, we will plan a better staging point to hold out until the military wipes out the zombies, because there is no way in hell the US military, with the support of the national guard, and the well armed police forces of every major city (one of which i live in) will be incapable of killing every single zombie on this continent and then some.

I live in Sydney, Australia. because nobody lives inland, everyone will think to flee to the desert when the zombies come. I will have no competition to my safe house.
i live next to a river which leads to the harbour. i also own a kayak. I plan to paddle the kayak with a suitcase full of supplies th a place called fort denison.
over the years its been a quarry, a prison, and a naval defence base. Its walls are high, its entrance is well protected, its tower has a clear view of the whole harbour and surrounding city, it has lots of living space and passageways, and it has a small field that served as a prison yard. nowadays it has a cafe, and is mainly visited by tourists.
because of its proximity to the city, raids can easily be made on other structures, while the water and walls make it virtually invincible to zombies and other people. vegetables could be grown and fish caught with relative reliability, and many of my friends have devised their own routes to get to it.
it is near a navy base, called garden island (not actually an island)
from which we could access military grade weapons, as well as naval artillery and ships.
your move, apocalypse.

I watched Attack the Block last week, and realised part way through that a zombie apocalypse simply would not affect South London. The kids portrayed in the film were so true to life, and their reactions to weird shit happening on their block were uncanny.

I could state with almost 100% certainty, that any zombies wouldn't last more than an hour down here. The kids in this area are resourceful, fearless and territorial. I wouldn't trust the army to react fast enough, but I'd put my life in the locals' hands.

The only problems I foresee are looting. I don't have a weapon, there is no way to get a weapon and I'm tough but not tough enough. I'd survive the outbreak, only to die from starvation.
Haha I came here to say this! No zombie would last for long down in south London, or some parts of north London either.

I'd just sit at home, have a cup of tea and wait for all of it to blow over. The local gangs will take care of it.
