I don't really like the game but Portal. Still Alive is a fantastic little bit.

A little more seriously; 10 points to Final Fantasy VI. That game had some seriously epic parts, but after the Black Mages translated the boss theme into pretty much a metal anthem it just went balls-to-the-walls awesome.

I was going to put this one but decided on Panzer Dragoon Saga; it was a close one though the soundtrack to this game is epic.

My favourite theme from the game is probably the one from the opening though as it's movie-score-worthy:

I have several picks. CoD4 as a whole was good, while this:
Team Fortress 2 Music- 'The Art of War'
as a whole is awesome.

Soooo good. Love it. Epic love for Team Fortress 2's music. Their main theme is just as impressive.

In addition to Art of War, two other tracks shout out to me when you go "Game Themes". Final Fantasy VII Main Theme, especially when played by an orchestra. Love it.

The other is Battlefield 2's main theme. I'd post a YouTube link, but I can't find one with a good quality. If someone can, PM or quote me so I know!

Phantasy Star Online episode 1 and 2 had one of the best VG soundtracks I have ever heard.
Castlevania: Curse of Darkness is a strong runner up, and I also liked the soundtrack to Castlevania: Circle of the Moon. Metroid Fusion had some really nice tracks.

I know it's old as hell, but Mario 3 has a funky soundtrack. Battletoads is a close second.

Edit: Oh yeah, the orchestra redoing the Zelda:OOT score was pretty good.

Runner up: The Unreal soundtrack (stuff by Straylight Studios)
2nd Runner Up: Paul Ruskay and the Homeworld/HW2 soundtracks

I really liked the retro music in Fallout 3. It gave a nice feeling that like, you're coming out of this vault and when you're out the world really hasn't advanced without you. You know what I mean? People haven't changed the language, they haven't changed their values, they haven't like grown.
