I once had a shaft of light light burst into my brain and I'm closed to convinced he's one in the same as Gordon Freeman.

Theres a 20 year something space betewen HL1 and HL2. Its knowed that Alyx was still a child during HL1.
I couldn't quite remember if Eli's picture was taken around the time of the black mesa incident. That obviously confirms it. It probably invalidates my point about Gordon not being seen by anyone between HL1 and HL2 as 20 years seems like too long a time to pass without people seeing him

12- Why are the vortigaunts good in HL2? I never sort of figured that out, especially after being a bad guy in HL1. The G-man himself makes reference to this. The vortigaunts were originally part of the xen species of aliens, yet showed no glimpses of the obvious power they possess in HL2. They have existed as a species for quite some time (one of them talks about herding antlions for their essense in ep2) but it seems like more of a storyline glitch than anything else.
Good points.

The answer to this one is actually slightly different than what the other person said.

The Vorts were slaves to the Xen aliens and had the neck braces on in HL1. Gordan freed them after killing the boss at the end of the game and so they consider him their saviour.

The reason they show no resentment would probably be due to the fact he killed them in self defence, and ultimately he saved more than he killed.

Well I guess most people thought he was dead I guess...And Elli says to him on HL2 that Gordon hasnt changed a thing. Then again this is the Half Life universe somethings are just too complicated to understand now.

Theres a theory that Elli and Kleiner hired the G-Man services to have Gordon back to help them. Cause at the begining pf HL2 Barney,Kleiner and Elli seemed to expect Gordon to arrive at that day and time.

Oh, she was? Do you have proof? Since I really don't know anything about Alyx during HL1, I'm curious to find out more.

From Wikipedia:

"Alyx is the daughter of Dr. Eli Vance. Her mother, who is of Asian descent, can be seen in a family photograph in Black Mesa East (the photograph appears again in Episode Two at the White Forest facility). Azian lived in the facility's dormitories with Alyx, but died during the Black Mesa incident (the event depicted in the first Half-Life game). In Episode Two, it was revealed that Alyx would have died at Black Mesa as well, except that the G-Man saved her "for his own purposes" and gave her back to Eli. Alyx was only a child when Gordon Freeman was employed at Black Mesa, but Freeman's stasis between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2 have effectively erased any appreciable age gap between the two characters."

Aaa I didn't know that, interesting. Well ofcourse the original still stands I guess: the Combine is a shared aggressor, not too wierd they work toghether to remove them.

Yea, in HL2 Alyx's dad (can't remember his name) mentions the only thing he was able to get out of Black Mesa: a picture of his family, showing a kid Alyx and his wife. If I recall correctly. *fires up HL2 to check*

G-Man. G-Spot. Coincidence?

I think not.
Gman is diffult to find, so is the G-spot, the minute you find the Gman he dissapears, same with the clitoris.

Win.

An agent of chaos, who is controlling both The Combine and Freeman. He is creating madness simply for the sheer hell of it.

He isn't a villian as he helps you destabalise the Combine Rule, the Borealis and Aperture science have to have something to do with the G-Man because Eli Vance makes sure it's ingrained in your head to DESTROY THE BOREALIS

Hopefully something key will be revealed in the next Episode.

I think that the G-man is just a facsimile of somebody who once turned up at valve with a reposession order in the early days and was put into the game to be abused in Gmod. I mean, all the Gmod videos that you see have he Gman in them and he is usually dying, or dancing madly, or getting shot across the map.

Hmm...Well I've always thought he's some sort of super natural creature, he's deffinitly not human.

Personally, I don't want to know. Gman is great character because we don't know ANYTHING about him. I'd rather it remained a mystery, even at the end. It should be left open to interpritaition. Half-Life always is.

I'm kind of in between on this one, I like the mystery behind G Man, but also like knowing as much about things as possible. If they do reveal the truth then I hope it's clever rather than deus ex machina .

Who CARES!? Don't we have better stuff to discuss?
So you purposely clicked on a discussion about G Man theories to tell people who are actually interested that there are more important things to discuss?

Ok, let's discuss pointless wastes of time by people who need their opinion stated just for the sake of it.
Dude my bad. I was pissed off probably and probably drunk(don't remember posting this). So I'm sorry. didn't mean to be an asshole. The computer really needs a breathalizer installed on it. lol

Ah yeah I guess he could be working for an outside source for the sake of Evil, but I think that Valve arent going to make G-Man a purely evil character just because of his creepy voice(Which I think is caused by not knowing proper dialects)

To the pic of real G-Man HOLY FUDGESICKLES IF REAL

ages ago i thought that zen was some sort of prison for the gman and the aliens were gardians forced to invade earth. i got this idea from listening to boss of hl1's speech, ninalith (spelt wrong) said you are man he is not man obliviosly referencing to the gman. so gordon cannot be the gman. the gman you see in hl1 must be Psycic death energy (i dont Know).

i thought this might be true like 3 years ago.

If I remember right, Shepherd was kept by the G-man because he survived when he was supposed to die, but the G-man is in the tutorial for opposing forces (one of the best tutorial levels ever IMO) so is inconsistant anyway. I think that valve have it all planned out.... I just hope it's good
