My first was FF7. And, while I like the game, my favourite would probably have to be FFX. The endgame part of that is very sad.

Oh, definitely disagree. Final Fantasy VII was my first exposure to the franchise, and while relatively fun, it ranks pretty low in terms of my favoured RPG's due to, in my opinion, a storyline focuses much too heavily on being epic and far too little on characterisation.

I think I'd say XIII is my favourite, closely followed by VIII. VIII had one of the best settings of a videogame I've come across in a long time, and some fun characters to boot - though, even so it suffered from too little characterisation.

XIII focussed on characterisation almost to its detriment, and for me, that's just fine. Yes, it's initial character designs weren't as brilliant as those of most Final Fantasy's, but as I value development over initial concept... yeah.

No, because I dislike all of them equally.

Sure they might be good JRPG's for people that JRPG's but I hate them

Last one i played was the Japanesse version of 3.
Hated it.

The first i played was XII for the PS2, but my all time favorite is the remake of Final Fantasy 1, for the Game Boy Advance.

I disagree with the opinion of the OP. The first FF I played was the first one back on the NES and it is not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination.

It's my general experience that for people who jumped in around the PS1 era of FF's the first they played was their favourite unless X knocked it off the top spot. Most people I know who played the games before the PS1 favour VI and I don't think I've ever met anyone who only got into FF's post X (bar a few people who play FFXI....but that's not a real FF anyway).

It's a tough one for me, my first played is FFVIII and I still love it, but I also loved X. I thought VIII had better characters and a more interesting (if convoluted) plot, but the battle system was pretty terrible, as you basically never got to use any of the shiny magic if you didn't want to rape your stats. FFX on the other hand I thought had weaker characters (Tidus was a whiny *****), but the combat and levelling systems were superb in my opinion and there was plenty of optional extras to do even without a world map.

I'll say VIII just to help the OP out :p

I played 7, 1, 2, 6, 10, 9, and then discovered Tactics...I will say all other FF's are utter pants compared to Tactics.

My first was VII. It blew me away at the time. But later on IX would become my favourite, and it still is.

For me, the first one I played was FFVII because the guy I was dating at the time had been playing it and I got sucked in. I absolutely loved it.

But it's not my favourite... in fact, each one I've played I've loved for different reasons and I find it difficult to really sit back and compare two unless we're talking the early start of the series.

I disagree, a few years ago I played Final Fantasy 3 (jap version) on the DS and hated it. When I tried the series again last year I played 7 and loved it. today, I can say that Final Fantasy 9, (which I am playing now) is my favorite.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. No, because it was Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. Also Final Fantasy Tactics exists.

Final fantasy 8 was the first one I'd ever played but it wasn't mine and I played it when I was much younger so never really did get into it properly. First I ever owned was 10 and I've played the games afterwards and a bit of 7 aswell as the tactics games for the GBA/DS, but I actually do rate 10 as my favourite FF and even among my favourite games ever

True, for me at least. Happened with Final Fantasy VII. The very first RPG I ever played, and the very first Final Fantasy I ever played. Couldn't ask for a better introduction to both.

Almost 8 was my first but X is easily my fave, technically x was the first I managed to beat so I supose you could count it as my first proper FF
