There are now 649 Pokemon.

Serebii now has all the new Pokemon confirmed, and i have to say, I'm impressed.

The first one has some new pictures while the second one has every confirmed Pokemon.

The new region (Ishuu) has 156 brand new Pokemon to keep us all amused =D

By the way, please only talk about new Pokemon and if they look ok not, don't just say they are crap without giving a good reason, im sick of seeing OMGPOKEMONREDISBESTFTW! -_-'

My personal fave is the Ground Crocodile evolution, it look's so bad ass!

I cannot say that any of them particularly appeal to me. They're all so busy, even the most simple of them just feel like a clusterfuck of colours and lines. Let me use a few examples:

Dasutodasu
Gigigear
Oobemu
Kurimugan
Goruggo

They just look so fucking mad, some of them bordering on Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters.

I must be honest (you knew it was coming): I don't like the look of most of the new Pokemon. Just think most of them look a bit too cute for me. (And I really worry about how conservative Christians are going to interpret the "Dream Pokemon" which looks to me like a foetus)

That said...there are some very cool new typings, and the online Pokemon metagame is probably going to be very interesting.
So I can't fault Nintendo for originality. I especially like the mole Pokemon, Doryuuzu (don't know if it's "new" or not...)

I'll probably end up picking the game up at some point due to my refusal to grow up though. ^.^

I'm trying too. Considering Black and White looks to be set in a distant region, from route 1. I'm really trying to imagine it as the first in the series, a re-birth if you will.

I meant as in it hadn't appeared in any previous press releases. But that's actually kind of a good idea, although it's not very nice on the long-term fans.

Looks like they've stayed true to their word about creating all-new material. I only saw a couple that reminded me of previous ones.

Some actually look rediculous. Like, the eyes and mouths and just the general look of some of them are silly.

Like Azure-Supernova said, some look like Yu-Gi-Oh monsters, or even Digimon.

Some look quite good though.
