according to serebii Ononokusu (#612) has a base attack of 147. correct me if im wrong but that would give it the strongest attack of any pokemon ever.

Given the look of it, i wouldn't be surprised.

Honestly, every generation after the second just rehashed the old pokemon, and even the second did so quite a bit. Now we have what, five different pokemon that are all pigey with different looks?!

I haven't checked them on Bulbapedia because I want to keep some stuff unspoilered, but from what I've seen this generation looks good.

Okay, what? Almost all of them are just repeats of old pokemon. I see machop, machoke and machamp there, paras, that coral pokemon, zubat, golbat, hitmonchan and hitmonlee (the two pokemons wearing GIS, what??), basucally all of them are just repeats. Please tell me you see it too.

Judging from the comments, it seems the general opinion is "Some are pretty good, some are pretty bad". Which covers just about every generation.

Is it just me, or has the art style changed a little drastically since even the last generation? They seem to be going for either retarded originality, resulting in ice cream and an elemental monkey trio. showing off advances in graphical capabilities, resulting in the clusterfuck of Aakeosu and Kurimugan. Or an attempt at 'badassery' resulting in Goruggo, Wargle, Sazando, Reshiram, Zekrom, Insekuta, Emboar, Zeburaika and many more.

It seems in their attempt to be different from previous generations (no doubt to represent Ishuu's distance from previous regions) Gamefreak has failed to convey to their artists that they needed to also make them attractive.

It's a bit obvious some Pokemon are replacements, but that's what they need for a NEW REGION.

Seriously, they will need new bat's, they will need new fighting types, and Bug types, just be great full they look completely different!

I must be honest (you knew it was coming): I don't like the look of most of the new Pokemon. Just think most of them look a bit too cute for me. (And I really worry about how conservative Christians are going to interpret the "Dream Pokemon" which looks to me like a foetus)

That said...there are some very cool new typings, and the online Pokemon metagame is probably going to be very interesting.
So I can't fault Nintendo for originality. I especially like the mole Pokemon, Doryuuzu (don't know if it's "new" or not...)

I'll probably end up picking the game up at some point due to my refusal to grow up though. ^.^
I like the look of them, mainly because they don't just reuse images from older, better selling games, and they're not too close to the uncanny valley (I really hate Pokemon that just look like people in weird suits). With the raise in art quality and originality I'm hoping for an improvement in game-play, so I think I'll be buying this next game...

The dark/dragon one (#635) looks awesome, as does the ground crocodile (#553)

Some of them do look a bit silly, though, but hey, there are a lot of pokémon from the earlier generations that look silly too...

I think Rampardos has some 165 base attack.

Why do I know that?
