I would watch this if it were a straight Nintendo based drama
It's not supposed to be funny; It's a Drama not a comedy.Dynex811 said:This really wasn't funny, with the exception of the part with Kirby.
the description said "There Will be Brawl is a darkly humorous mini-series satirizing the classic game heroes..." so I expected some dark comedy and with the of Kirby in the end (which wasn't even really dark comedy), I did not not find it funny.nathan-dts said:It's not supposed to be funny; It's a Drama not a comedy.Dynex811 said:This really wasn't funny, with the exception of the part with Kirby.
You're all retarded. Remember the bit with Phanto and the key? Wario and the mushroom (lolwut)? Ice Climbers as psychotic, fugly little bodyguards? The plumber jokes aimed at Mario? The music alone is downright hilarious. Lakitu reading the news even made me chuckle. Never mind the fact that the whole thing is just so fucking absurd...Kirby as a cannibal?! This fucking thing is RIFE with dark humor and you're a dumbtard if you don't think soDynex811 said:the description said "There Will be Brawl is a darkly humorous mini-series satirizing the classic game heroes..." so I expected some dark comedy and with the of Kirby in the end (which wasn't even really dark comedy), I did not not find it funny.nathan-dts said:It's not supposed to be funny; It's a Drama not a comedy.Dynex811 said:This really wasn't funny, with the exception of the part with Kirby.
Ah, I understand. Because I don't automatically share your sense of humor it means I'm a dipshit. Gotcha.ih8stuff3 said:You're all retarded. Remember the bit with Phanto and the key? All the time. How do you make your daily decisions?Grand_Marquis said:So Dynex, do you always let video descriptions rule your opinion, or is this bad habit something you picked up recently?![]()
I understand why you and others here find it funny and I understand what the video was about. I'm simply stating that I did not find it funny and going into it, based of the description I read, humor was the primary thing I was expecting.Grand_Marquis said:All told, it's not comedic because of the performances, but rather in *spite* of them. Purely as a narrative, this seems to be played entirely straight as a noir murder mystery. A pretty interesting one, at that. What makes it humorous is that the character choices are inherently absurd. And what makes it impressive is the careful, almost meticulous way those characters were incorporated into the story. Kirby's appearance at the end is more of a sting-reveal/homage than the punchline you wait for at the end of a joke. In that sense, it would rather you smile in devious understanding, as though in on a conspiracy, than simply laugh outright. Though the latter certainly wouldn't be a negative, it's also not specifically what this video was striving to do.
That's my interpretation, anyhow.
