That sounds good. Why? There is sex and that's bad in a game, but he says its ''a little'' so they seem to not make a big deal about it. There is swimming, but no annoying swim fights. Flying - no air fights with cannons, lasers and stuff.

Whatever they do with the "sex" angle, I hope they do it tastefully. Somebody hinted that, if you press a button at the right time in a cutscene, they have sex. If that's so, what a terrible idea. The "press button to see sex" idea is the very immaturity that the press thinks gamers are all about.

Many books and movies involve sex in places, but the better ones don't use it as an excuse for people to watch. Instead, they view it from the point of view that "people have sex" and add it in as some important part of the plot line. Consider a movie where the characters having sex results in them feeling awkward towards each other later on. Sure, they could just hint at them having had sex, but you seeing something of it drives home the point. Video games should be able to do something similar, rather than just using sex as a spectacle.

From what I've gathered about Mass Effect, they managed it quite tactfully. As part of your growing relationship with one character, you could choose to take it to the next level, which showed them kissing and faded to black -- perfectly acceptable. On the other hand, the whole Hot Coffee fiasco was basically a minigame based around the act of having sex, which is clearly there for the player's titilation, resulting in it being treated no different than a pornographic magazine. No wonder parents were concerned about that one.

Basically, if game developers and gamers want to be taken seriously, they need to stop treating sex as a game or a spectacle and start incorporating it into the story in a mature manner.

Now the 150 different missions? Well I can already assume that they being different is bullshit. There aren't enough gameplay elements in any sandbox game I can think of to make each mission different. I commend them on the intent, but I can't say I expect 150 unique missions. I will, however, look forward to seeing exactly what effect the different armors will actually have on your appearance.
Did you ever play The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction? That had a crap-ton of side missions dressed up as minigames, and almost all of them were different.

But yeah, I want more sex in games: it's the only way people are going to realize that the medium is not for kids anymore, and pushing the envelope for more mature games. (Not as in porn games: I'm talking more like Mass Effect, where sex is the culmination of a relationship.)

I fonder if he can quick stab with other parts of his body than just his hands...
/bad joke.
Anyway, the game seems to have taken a step towards a cinematic feel, so I suppose they've let their art directors loose.

Well it seems that every game now attempts an aside mentioning sex in hopes that it will have Mass Effect-like sales boosts. Its not a bad strategy perse but it is something which many companies are doing. Mass Effect is continuing with it, Alpha Protocol, The Witcher[footnote]Tried.[/footnote] and others which I don't remember the names of are also trying this strategy. I guess its successful enough considering most people's willingness to buy into something via sex appeal.

I think what they mean is that they each have a different mission structure. In other words you aren't necessarily going to be doing a different thing every time, but doing it in a different way every time. Also when they say 150 missions, that is also including the supposedly spontanious ones that happen unexpectedly, like getting robbed then having to chase down the guy (or not if you don't want to) that stole your money, or being spotted by a messanger who you chase down so that the enemy isn't alerted to your presence.

If violent games make kids wanna murder, this will make kids wanna rape.

I like the customization factor; I always found it odd for an assassin to wear all white. That, and I always found intrigue in a customizable rogue, choose to be the all-black-night ninja, blend with everyday crowd by looking "normal," or just kill shit... ooor be the weird guy that wears all-white, alerting everyone of his crime with his blood-soaked cloth. Though I wish there was more shadow play, there are little-to-no stealth games on the 360...and PS3. Maybe something will be implemented with the dynamic-day cycle.
Wear red sleeves, that way there won't be any blood that shows on them. Although admittedly I felt that that was one of the more intriguing things I noticed from the gameplay trailers.

I feel that adding this option adds too much focus on the gender aspect of the game. Now the protagonist is not just an assassin, he's a heterosexual male assassin. That would make you wonder why he's not a homosexual male assassin, or why you don't have the option to choose between a male and a female protagonist. They had better just left out that option.

the first one's repetition wasn't too bad if you played the missions with the mindset of exploring the city and enjoying the freerunning. if not, then i totally understand everyone hating the repetition. the repetition probably got annoying. most people hate repetition. especially repetition in a game.

repetition.

This is all well and good, but the question remains: is the game itself any good? While the insane amount of repetition in AC 1 admittedly grated on my nerves, it surely wasn't as bad as it would have been if no two missions matched, but only one or two were any fun.

I at least hope I'll be able to dismount in mid air, imagine it DEATH FROM ABOVE! Swoop in, jump from underneath your flying machine, hidden blade the target than run like hell.
That will make the game worth the price alone.

well the only thing i really care about is if they end up fixing the repeatability of the first game, it had so much potential but got too boring after a bit

the customization is pretty cool but ultimately not that great of a feature

That would be pretty awesome but imagine hidden blades in your shoes? Then kicking them XD.

Anyway looks pretty awesome reminds me of thief but being able to get on roofs and kill people in better ways. Also the fact that they are learning from their mistakes in AC1 is good and gives me high hopes for this game.
