So I guess "Faffing About Creed" is to be follwed up with "Fapping About Creed"

[/joke]

Seriously though Ezio's schedule must look really odd "Death, Death, Death, Death, Lunch, Death, Sex, Death, Sex, Sex, Death, Sex, Dinner and a Murder, Sex"

I feel that adding this option adds too much focus on the gender aspect of the game. Now the protagonist is not just an assassin, he's a heterosexual male assassin. That would make you wonder why he's not a homosexual male assassin, or why you don't have the option to choose between a male and a female protagonist. They had better just left out that option.
I agree with you here. Assassin's Creed was intensely fun during the parts where you were actually en route to kill an important target, stabbing their faces, and then running away. What made it fun was the "you are a badass assassin who kills things and gets away with it". While I'm all for making the side missions less repetitive and adding more gameplay elements (different weapons, etc) it seems like the more stuff they add the more they drift from the main premise: being sneaky and killing stuff.

Personally, I also have to say I thought the sex scene in Mass Effect was shoehorned in pretty badly. It wasn't necessary, and given that the characters jumped from having semi-meaningful/deep conversations straight to sex didn't at all seem real to me. The game would have been perfectly fine without it.

Am I the only one who thinks the thought of living the genetic memory of your ancestor getting laid is kinda gross?

Oh, this game is going to be so kick ass. Probally not as much as Modern Warfare 2 but hey I could be wrong...it's happened before...rarely, but it has happened.

Variety sounds great.

I really felt lame with the eavesdropping missions.

1. Go to bench.
2. Sit down.
3. Aim towards target.
4. Press Y or triangle depending on console.
5. Yawn.

And kudos for the ability to NOT die in the water. Every time Altair died from the water I was thinking that one of his future incarnations were the Lee brothers in Double Dragon. All that killer water.

I'm wondering about these armour options. Will they all be the hooded robe we all know and love? Or will we get that awesome vest+long sleeve shirt combo you see in the "Birth of an Assassin" trailer?

Interesting that they're letting us know that he's a womanizer. One's inclined to think that that's a bad thing...

Except that I'm not that one, and that little variation in character actually sounds intriguing--what other immoral aspects of common life will we get to exploit (apart from slaughtering a bunch of Italian snoods, obviously).

There Will Be Sex in Assassin's Creed II

According to Assassin's Creed II director Benoit Lambert, protagonist Ezio is a bit of a "womanizer," and will be putting the "Ass" in "Assassin."

The folks at VG247 [http://www.vg247.com/2009/09/30/assassins-creed-ii-your-questions-answered-by-director-benoit-lambert/] recently had the chance to submit questions from their community to Ubisoft's Benoit Lambert, director of the upcoming Assassin's Creed II. When asked if there would be sex in the game, Lambert replied, "Ezio is a womanizer. There's a bit of sex. I can't say more."

Other interesting answers: Ezio won't be able to dismember opponents, but there will still be some "nice fatalities," like "chopping up tippy-toes and stuff." Unlike his ancestor Altair, Ezio can swim, but that will largely be relegated to hiding from pursuers - the game won't have any in-water combat other than the ability to rock people off of boats.

Similarly, though Ezio has a flying machine, there won't be any aerial combat, either. "You'll be able to use it to kick people in the face while you're flying. That's it."

Excessive repetition was one of the things in Assassin's Creed that a lot of people
complained about, and we've seen that the AC2 developers have taken great pains to avoid it [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95041-Play-As-a-Baby-Assassin-in-Assassins-Creed-II] in this game. In fact, out of approximately 150 missions in AC2, Lambert can only think of one that is a repeat: "We really tried to make sure it does not repeat. I can't answer the question, 'Does is[sic] repeat?' I see one mission that's similar mid-game and end-game, but in general, we really tried to make sure it's different."

Finally, it looks like Ezio will be much more customizable by the player than Altair had been: Not only does he have 20 types of armor (I'm assuming this might also mean visual accessories, like shoulder padding or whatever), 30 different weapons, and "gadgets like smokebombs and poison and stuff," but the player will be able to dye his outfit with 14 different colors spread across the cities.

Does this mean that we'll be able to play as a bright pink assassin? Boy, I sure hope so.

Check out the full list of questions and answers at VG247 [http://www.vg247.com/2009/09/30/assassins-creed-ii-your-questions-answered-by-director-benoit-lambert/].

Therefore assassin's creed 2 will be the greatest thing in video game history.

Does this mean it will be banned in Australia then?
Oh way to crush my already dwindling hope.

OT: I'm not sure how they propose that every one of the 150 fundamentally different missions will be fun. There's only so many things an assassin does. I hope they don't make up stupid unrealistic things just for the sake of being different: Ezio wouldn't be very good at interpretive dance.

well, they gave it a casual mention in response to a question, instead of using it as a major selling point, so I guess the points they lose for putting it in they get back for not making a big deal.

Of course, this made me aware enough of the game to research it and now I'll probably wind up with the PC version (darn you release date delay!) so I guess it might at least have an indirect effect on sales. It would be nice, I think, to play a game in the Renaissance, without any of the annoying sorcery, elves, or fantasy trappings that tend to show up anywhere where vaguely rifle-like weapons have yet to be invented.
