Lost Planet 2. Reviewers didn't even try to like it. And too many gamers got caught up in preconceived notions about how a third person shooter should control. A truly underappreciated game.

I really like Dawn of War 2 even though a lot of other fans of the Dawn of War series hated it

Mount and Blade.

Also maybe Wet, I never owned but from what I played I really enjoyed, despite the shit story, voice acting and characters.
You watch your mouth, mister! Malcolm McDowell himself voiced the villain in that game, and that man has the sexiest voice on the planet!

I'll go for the first Assassins Creed. I saw what everyone meant about the not very wide variety of side missions and the overlong assassination dialog, but it never bothered me because the world was just so open and pretty and I was a medieval assassin who lived on top of a mountain and had the most badass hoodie ever!

GTA4 - All of my friends say that Saints Row 2 was a better and more fun game, but I don't care, I like feeling like a serious person all the while running over random civilians and flying off swingsets.

Saboteur, I thought it was really good.
Ninja'd. Although critics didn't really hate it, it seemed like they felt obligated to find faults with it, and when they couldn't find any good ones they just kept saying X gameplay mechanic isn't as good as Y game, and Z gameplay mechanic isn't as good as T game... great journalism right there... nobody mentioned how the protagonist was one of the most likeable flawed game characters in recent memory or how well the plot emulated the stories that inspired it. Or even how well all the 'not quite as good as the industry leader' mechanics worked together as a whole. Oh well.

Wait, no! that's one: Mashed! I loved the hell out of that game- one of the best local multiplayer console games in recent memory, but the critics -the US ones at least- tore it to shreds thinking the camera was odd, not realising that was the whole point. European critics seemed to get it a bit more though.

Too Human, the amount of customization blew my mind. Also had fun killing robots as a Norse god.

Alpha Protocol. It did what most games promise, an interactive story that adapts to your choices. Pair that with some great gameplay and you've got an, in my opinion, great game. No idea why people hate on it so much.

The open world Tony Hawk Games. Everyone seems to bash those games but I love them.

Bahahaha, who am I kidding? No one loves that monstrosity!
I have a friend that likes it. He tried to convince me to try it, but I had just started playing minecraft and didn't even give it half an hour.

I myself enjoyed Star Wars: episode 3 for the PS2. I know that it is a bad game (linear, little to no debt etc) but I remember playing the jedi temple-level, fighting dousens of jedi with fondness.

Bad day LA.

JAWS: UNLEASHED

Awww man those games were ridiculous and childish but they were FUN, the graphics were colorfull and rich and they are some of the only things I can really consider FUN.

Unlike games like dragon age, no fun at all.

I have 2,

Dante's Inferno (I preferred it over God of War 3)

and

ET for the Atari 2600, I really enjoyed playing it as a kid although it may have helped that I had not seen the film at that point (Oddly enough I didn't like the film anyway)

Not that people thought it sucked, per se, but Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Specifically: the fact that you play as Raiden, the overly-long cut scenes, and, above all, the pseudo-intellectual wankery--these things make this my favourite and most revisited game from the series.

In addition to ones that others have said (Deadly Premonition, and Nier. Deadly Premonition was frellin' awesome, and Nier wasn't too bad either) I would like to add killer7 and Dragonball Z: Budokai tenkaichi. Killer7 was actually not very well received when it first came out, but I love it (I would actually rate it as on of my favorite games of all time). Dragonball Z: Budokai tenkaichi was just a crap fighting game, but I still love it for some reason. Maybe it is because I can beat the snot of Krillin whenever I want...
