The lovely catch 22 of employment some people have mentioned. I am currently looking to do something different in life. i've been cooking for 8 years and I just want to do something different. So, Ive been applying for landscaping and various construction jobs(private and professional businesses) and get the same shit every time.

"So you're looking for a new career?"
"Yes."
"Do you have experience doing
"Only at home. Not with a business"
"Sorry, we need experience."

Eat. My. Dick.

Well, I would say ignorant people. Everyone (including me obviously) are ignorant of plenty of things, which isn't bad in itself, but becomes a problem when somebody decides that they need to make their opinion heard when they don't understand what they are talking about.

A couple of examples of things I'm totally ignorant of and will therefore not try to comment on:

Cars. I know next to nothing about them, therefore I am not going to talk/post about that stuff. I won't recommend a car to somebody, or try to troubleshoot a problem somebody is having with a car etc.

Relationships. I have never had anything even close to a girlfriend or anything like that, so I won't try to give relationship advise.

The single biggest example of something I DO know a lot about and get annoyed when clueless people try to argue with me about it:

Military History and the Second World War in particular. I'm a military history major finishing up my fourth year and will continue on to grad school where I'm thinking of writing a thesis on either an aspect of the Pacific War, Second Sino-Japanese War or Eastern Front (haven't quite decided between those or narrowed my ideas into a workable thesis yet). What I have learned over the years is that if there is a single period of history that is morbidly misunderstood by the Average Joe, it is the Second World War.

Everyone who has watched a single shitty documentary on the "History" channel (without exaggeration, about 95% of documentaries are total bullshit), spent ten minutes reading a Wikipedia article or got a horribly inaccurate/slanted lesson in some high school thinks they are an expert. I get so annoyed by this that anytime I see a Second World War thread surface I avoid it at all costs, since I know I will end up getting super angry at the sheer amount of ignorance.

1. Politicians... no exceptions.
2. People driving on the fast lane despite the right one being free.
3. People not ever switching their fucking cell/smart phones off.
4. Animes not growing up with me. (Basically there is only school stuff for teenagers or porn. Exceptions prove the rule)
5. My internet connection being so damn slow...

People who smoke with no thought to the people around them.
I don't care that you smoke, just don't blow that stinking cancer filled smoke in my face.
Though I most hate people who just start smoking in your house without even asking if they are allowed to first. That's very rude.

Rant rant!

When people decide that they should stop and talk in the middle of a crowded area, especially a doorway. It's the pedestrian equivalent to stopping your car in the middle of an on-ramp to answer your cell phone.

Also, people who like to piss on religion because it's trendy.

...Stupid people...

More specifically:
-Politicians
-Anyone who backs up an argument with any form of organized religion. Personal beliefs based on experience excepted.
-Racists, homophobes, anyone who dislikes someone for something that is determined in the mind/genetically and not by choice
-Anyone who believes they are always in the right
-Anyone who thinks that good and evil exist
-The vast majority of the human race.

People who say "good sir".
People who pretend they have the ability to deal out cookies over the internet.
People who shove their beliefs or lack thereof in your face.
People who say they're your friends but never bother to take the initiative.
People who think all fat people are overweight because they must sit around eating McDonalds several times a week.
People who get in my way at the gym.
People who play a character on forums.
People who won't shut up about Dr. Who, Friendship is Magic and Game of Thrones.
When I decide to go for a walk and it immediately starts raining.
Couples.

the employers ads who want experienced people (everyone wants experienced people) and they don't want someone who is trying to get into the industry (but how are those people/students/postgraduates supposed to get the needed experience?)

There is just so much wrong with the gaming community (and general geek community) at the moment, I am really getting tired of it. I'm also getting tired of non-stop whining that can't be escaped at all.

What I hate generally about the world is: Intolerance. Sure I might have my borders, but intolerance to race, sexuality et cetera really annoys me. Now, anyone who knows me closely will say "but you hate religion! isn't that intolerant?" Well I guess in a way it is, but I mostly hate religion (not all) for the intolerance it has (christianity on homosexuals. The fact that it isn't allowed sickens me).

So my opinion on that can be described in words from a Dylan song "Don't hate nothin' but hatred".

Drivers who think that this [http://dot.cobbcountyga.gov/Ped_safety/safe_to_cross.jpg] means this. [http://watermarked.cutcaster.com/cutcaster-photo-100398836-Right-turn-traffic-light-arrow.jpg]
I've almost been hit a few times trying to cross the street because some asshole decides to turn before his time.

Guess that is true. But they definitely are the most vocal, and they need to shut up. That sub-division of gamers, I hate.

People in power having no idea or experience in what they are voting on. Yes, I'm looking at the politicians who were saying, "DERP, I'm not one of them weirdo computer nerd-types, but SOPA is a really good bill that you should agree with and durrhurrhurrdeehurr." The fact they had not only refused to read up on the topic, but they even had the sheer audacity to tell everybody about that fact, irritated the hell out of me.

The usual bits about people who don't drive...good. In my county, where I live, we are notorious for two things: meth labs and rolling stops. I see people fly through the stop sign in the center of my subdivision as if it is not there all the time. A child (about 8 years old) was hit by a douchebag in a new mustang going 50 mph when the speed limit was half that who decided that stop signs are only there to slow him down. Naturally, his license was suspended, he was sued, etc, but the kid ended up losing his leg. And people still run through the damn stop sign. They've posted dummy cops, real cops, speed radars, everything, and they still freaking do it. It didn't help that all of these methods failed so hard that it practically made a laughingstock of our sheriff's department here. I hate it so goddamn much.

Ignorance in regards to religion and lack thereof. To put it into perspective, there was a girl who went to my old private school (I went there from K-4th grade). Her parents had drilled into her head that Halloween was a Satanist holiday that celebrated Satan's birthday of all stupid things, the Pokemon were named after real demons, competitive sports are too dangerous for honest god-fearing children to participate in, and that children who were either adopted or had step-parents were not going to Heaven. Naturally, she told everybody about all of these beliefs, not knowing any difference, and confused the hell out of a lot of kids who went to the school. Looking back on it, it seemed extremely ignorant and down-right stupid of her parents, but at the time I was very confused by it and scared (my parents had divorced when I was young, I loved Pokemon, played sports like a lot of kids, and I had celebrated Halloween since I was a small child).

TL;DR- Ignorant people in power, horrible drivers, ignorance on all sides of religion

Why wouldn't you ever be able to get along with Malcom X, though the rest I understand.
Well, I guess I should have been more specific. I cant get along with what I call "Pre-enlightened" Malcolm X. You know: The one who was the poster boy of the Black Seperation movement...the one who changed his last name to X because his real last name "Belonged to my slaveowner in the past".....The one who called MLK Jr. "weak" because he wanted to avoid violence to get civil rights....The one who called the whites "Devils" and said "Blacks need a nation of thier own, by force if nessesary."

That one.

However, after his pilgramige to Mecca, I could probly get along. By the time he died, he had redeemed himself in my eyes, which I think is what he was going for anyway: redemption for what he had done in the past.

Yup. That's one thing I'm part of too.

OT:
Some guy I know. His attempts at hitting on girls.
Yes, his attempts are funny as phuck, however, there is a slight problem... He hits on the girls I'm interested in...
Now they get annoyed by his shitty attempt, what chance do I have now?! Fuckin' asshole.

Also, drivers. They're worse than learner drivers. I don't claim to be the best driver in the galaxy, but I sure as hell try and be the safest driver I can be. You can also add drivers not signalling to my list too. God that annoys the piss out of me.

Alright that makes perfect since then. He really was a giant asshole before his trip to Mecca.

The belief by Hollywood execs that any movie protagonist must be some kind of jerk, egotist, loser, "hip" young person, or some combination thereof. I'm not saying there's no place for that kind of character but it's being overdone. Not to mention the implied insult of having this character be the one we're supposed to relate to.

On that note, I hate when movie studios take another property and turn the lead character into a jerk, egotist, loser, etc. even when the character wasn't in the source material. The movie adaptation of the Dark is Rising is probably one of my least favorite examples of that.

Just how obsessed people in my age group (18-25, drinking age where I live is 18) are obsessed with going to bars and clubs, and just getting drunk in general. Okay sure, they can be fun once in a while, but I swear, that's ALL these people want to do! Every weekend, sometimes weekdays.

I never understood the appeal of clubs or getting drunk (then again my first experience with a club was a shitty one and I never went to another, and I've never been drunk before).

It's hard for me to make friends because I'd rather go bowling, or play laser tag, or go to the movies or just hang out at a friend's house with no alcohol involved, but NOOOOOOOOOOO! ALWAYS with the alcohol. Alcohol alcohol alcohol. Ugh -.-
