This.

That noone is playing with action figures anymore (atleast my young relatives aren't which I'll take as a good enough case study for the whole world). If you want creativity and manliness, start playing with simple toys again. Lego (simple blocks not prebuild Harry Potter stuff), wooden blocks and action figures. It goes a long way.

90% of the Music

70's get David Bowie and AC/DC.

I hate you God!
Why? Why????

Honestly for a brief time in 2002 or 03 I thought some good music was making a comeback but it didn't last long. The only thing we have today is minimal electro music, but I'd trade that for a single prime David Bowie concert anyday.

I usually think like this: Music best time around mid 60s to mid 70s. Film, I'll take the 70s altough 30's and 50's are also quite strong. Hell, even the 90's were atleast as good in movies. Videogames too.

Hey, but one thing...It's getting better all the time. I'm a firm believer.

What are some things you really hate about everything from 2000 to now? Popular culture? Artists? Movies? Famous icons/historical events?

Corporations pretending to be ethical. Maybe this has always gone on, but the trend seems more pronounced these days.
Look at the BP logo, for Bibbler's sake..

Reality. Fucking. Television. It seems like as soon as it became popular, TV went down the crapper.
Yes, from all the things that suck about the last decade, thats definitly the worst because we still did not get rid of it.
And it evolved into "casting shows"...ugh...

EDIT: Well, not the worst in terms of general society and the like, but still...

The 60's get the Beatles and Elvis.
70's get David Bowie and AC/DC.
80's get U2 and Guns n Roses.
90's get The Manic Street Preachers and Radiohead.

And what do I get? Paramore, Green Day and My Chemical Romance.

I hate you God!
Yeah, but we also get Cage the Elephant.

And that makes up for it.

The fact that we STILL don't have flying car despite it being predicted 40 years ago.
The flying car is a stupid idea, it's impractical, and oh so fucking dangerous

Green Day was actually a 90's band. They've just become disgustingly emo semi-recently.

90% of today's music. The rest is Voltaire, Gorillaz, REM and Korpiklaani.

And pop culture as a whole. Whores becoming stars, dudes who were castrated and/or have genetic defects and will never go through puberty are suddenly "hot" and dressing up like twats is trendy. Also the word "trendy".

This thread is amusing. Rock music hasn't degraded. It has changed to fit a new demographic; rock music constantly does that to adjust to the new young generation. Sure, there's a lot of commercialized tripe, but every decade had that. This decade had a lot of good rock music as well.

And to whoever said etiquette and manners had disappeared in the 00's, I'm tempted to guess you didn't live in the 90's. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Yup. The sad truth is, we'll never have flying cars. And if we do, it'll be so tightly regulated the only difference is you'll be in congestion high enough above ground to reach terminal velocity on your way down if your engine quits on you.

Guys wearing their pants 2/3 of the way down their buttocks. I mean come on, I barely know you. I'd rather not know what your boxers look like.
Not an invention of the 90's. I remember it was very much in when I was in junior high. Which is to say, mid-90's.
