Not what surprises others, but what surprises you. What do you find odd about yourself, things that you never thought you'd do?

For a metal head, I for some reason like country and rockabilly music. And for such a strange person, I'm actually pretty bland and uninteresting.

Also, while I love debating and such, I really suck at making my points clear, so people often see me as stupid for my opinion. This way I've lost several arguments with me defending capitalism and global cooling.

For someone so articulate, verbose, and charming, i tend to be shy and anti-social.

Kind of the same for me. I love to discuss and to be with people, but when I'm in a group, I barely talk at all, and it's like I'm not there.

Despite being in solid physical shape, I have an absurdly low amount of muscle. So low, that even with a body fat of 5%, my six pack doesn't even show.

Another thing that surprises me is how mentally cut off from the rest of the world I am. I have very little social interaction outside of classes and training, and while most people at college look forward to getting drunk on weekends, I look forward to my next meal, or my next training session, or waking up the next morning and finding out that I've gained muscle mass, or lost body fat. I have nearly nothing to talk about to other people, save for my latest physical improvements, or the awesome commercial I made as part of a class project.

I'm also surprised that I've still never had a decent relationship at the age of 19.

On a more positive note, I'm surprised that within a month, a routine workout I do when I train in Boxing, went from what I would describe as "agonizing" to what I would describe as "pfff, no big deal."

That i've managed to have two relationships.

Seriously, if you knew me you'd know why, I get REALLY shy around people who i find attractive.. It's not normal!

I'm usually really nice and generally quite quiet. But sometimes I change, and I put up a barrier between "caring and empathy" and "the rest of the world" and become quite nasty...

Apparently it's scary when I go like that, and this is coming from a close friend at the time. I'm not sure what it signifies, other than it's probably not a good idea to be the person who sets it off.

This, I also am impressed by how charming and suave I can be but at the same time so awkward. So much so that I get really shocked when I realise that I'm the most popular person at the dinner table considering they had to more or less force me to sit there in the first place.
Also I'm surprised by how I much prefer the company of female friends to male friends despite being myself very much masculine.

Some girls maybe finds shyness cute. I sure hope so, that'd be the only way I'd get a girl.

I'm a flirt. I really had no clue. My girlfriend called me a flirt while we were fooling around a little, I told her she was crazy. She then started outlining all of the ways I have flirted with her and other women before we started dating. I slowly realized that I flirt without knowing it. Apparently I'm just really good at speaking in a flirty, yet not corny tone and saying the right things. Go me.

That'd be nice. Nahh, i tend to be really rather loud around anyone else, but as soon as i see someone i like i clam up.

it's stupid, i know i'd have held onto people far better if i could NOT be shy :/ Really annoys me sometimes.
