I'm top of my class so people assume all I care about is school.
I'm gay so people think I have lots and lots of sex and want to bang everyone.
I'm nonreligious and people appear to believe that this means I hate religion with a passion and read Darwin and such.

1. I haven't studied since third grade, high school is just bloody easy for me.
2. Until this summer I hadn't had sex, and it has only been with one person. And that person is the only one I've ever been particularly interested in.
3. I just don't care. At all. It does not matter to me. I live in a way I'm proud of. If there is a god from any religion and they want to condemn me for it, I would say that god isn't worth worshiping in the first place.
"People" meaning, of course, people who live in the same area as me.
Ranty post is ranty.

You're doing it wrong! We're supposed to strip down, doll ourselves up and pose with our controllers! I did it once and I had to barricade my house shut. Bloody men clawing at my door at 4am! Had to get the water gun out! They've finally gotten the hint and left me alone though...
/sarcasm.
(Although it has been a lot easier to get a boyfriend since I unleashed my nerdy side. Probably because of the similar interests...)

I agree about the feminism thing too. Especially after the story of Anonymous hacking a feminism website and changing everything to "women belong in the kitchen/men are superior/how to get raped."
They must seriously assume all feminists think they're superior to men, when it's just them hoping to achieve equality.

I've seen a few guys on this very website say how they think women are just all bitches who drain your money and are just there for sex o_O I hope they were all just having an unfunny joke. I for one, am always paying for myself and others. I'd only get a guy to pay for me if I forgot my purse or something.
I even paid for my own birthday meal, alongside the persons I was with. >_<

I use a PC = I must hate Macs.
I play on my PC = I must hate consoles
Someone uses a Canon camera = they must hate Nikon.

I play games on my PC because when I was growing up we never had a console, so gaming has always been on the PC for me. Doesn't mean I hate consoles, just didn't think of buying one. Same goes for why I didn't buy a Mac. And as far as games on Macs go; my girlfriend has a Mac so I've put quite a library of games on there for her, so I also spend some time playing games on a Mac.
And the camera thing... My favourite camera brand is Pentax.

I don't really get accused of things too often. But a lot of my friends sometimes treat me like I'm stupid, which is pretty much the most annoying thing possible. It's really more of a manifestation of their respective egos than an actual accusation towards me though.

But I suppose a lot of people think I'm a hipster, because I listen to lots of music my friends have never heard of. They never hold it against me though.

In return, I just remember they're a bunch of c*nts

My favorite of all time was that I "believe in science" and therefore am a scientologist. You could see that they thought they were geniuses for saying it too.

I was also personally accused of aiding terrorists by making a token effort to oppose opening up a wildlife refuge for oil drilling.

And, back when I had long hair, it wasn't common, but it wasn't rare either to be called a hippy for no other reason than having long hair.

The most irritating one these days is people assuming I'm a dickhead or downright evil because I'm an atheist. No sir, I'm a dickhead towards you because you say things like that. I get along with people who aren't douchebags just fine, including people of various religious beliefs. Once in a while, I even go to church with them.

Oh, and also, I'm a feminist so I hate dudes. Despite half the people I love the most in this life being male, I guess I hate them too. This one bothers me slightly more, but you learn to live with it.

Also that.
I have found that most women identify themselves as feminists. Also that when guys refer to feminists it is generally towards the feminists who are actively out protesting in some form or another and not really women who simply label themselves as such.
I don't consider myself a feminist necessarily, but I have been accused of being a hardcore femnazi, mostly by insecure freaks I meet online. Voicing your opinion can suck sometimes, but whatever. The most I hear is that I'm a manipulator, I can't control my emotions, I'm quick to petty behavior, I'm ignorant, and that I can't match up to hardcore gamers. I just ignore it now because most people are complete morons.

1. I'm gay therefor I have never done the dirty with the opposite gender ever. I don't know why, it just annoys me that people assume so much about my past from one single word.

2. I mention liking one genre of music, therefor I must hate or dislike all others. I can guarantee I will find at least 1 song from any genre that I enjoy.

3. I'm a gamer, thus I must mean 360. I don't know if this is just my area, but whenever I mention being a gamer in person, everyone assumes I own a 360, or maybe a PS3, never a PC, just bugs me.

As far as gay stereotypes go, this one annoys me the most. Guy finds out you're gay "OH JUST DON'T COME ONTO ME OR ANYTHING".. Yes, because I'm such a sex crazed monster I will try and flirt with a blatantly straight man.

People seem to get this vibe that i'm really into drinking or am pretty much a drunk... even though i've never given them reason to be. I do partake in the smoking of marijuana here and there but i'm not much of a drinker so it confuses the heck out of me.

It also weirds people out that my hobbies don't seem to match my personal appearance. I've been told I look menacing and unapproachable cause I wear black shirts, boot cut jeans, cowboy boots and studded leather wrist straps and chain smoke but then they see i'm all into gaming, reading and zen meditation stuff. Besides shooting guns for fun, i'm in no way 'hardcore' or 'manly'.

My mom constantly tells me when I am on my laptop am I winning at my games and I am like "What game?" I don't play games on my laptop that much and whenever she says it, I am on the net reading. It's small, but It bothers me.
Ha! This.

I could be drawing on my tablet and she'd still say it. Such a crazy lady, but I still love her.

OT: I don't know.. having a girlfriend?

My friends tell me I could get any girl I wanted but I easily dismiss that fact (Yeah, it's a fact, gotta problem wit mah swagger?).

I'm just not interested in dating in highschool is all. Another contributing factor is that most of the girls there are, well, crazy to say the least. But I 'assume', emphasis on the assume, that around junior or senior year is when most adolescent females mature mentally so I could give it some time I guess.

Hmm, I don't seem to attract much attention from anyone so I've never really had generalisations like these slung at me. Works for me.

1."You only like that movie 'cause (insert sexist thingy here)."
Just because you do doesn't mean everyone else does.

2."All men are the same."
Thanks...

3."Games are for children."
Don't comment on things you have no knowledge about.

4."I don't want you to turn out like me."
I'm not you so stop projecting on me.

5."That's just Childish dream."
What's wrong with following your dream?

6."Cut your hair."
I keep good care of it so what's the problem? A woman once said this to me and I replied "just 'cause you'r jealous I've got better hair than you." she stood there stunned for a minute and later said that she realised that "That was why I couldn't stand it".

I dunno, I'm a self-proclaimed gamer. I say so because most gamer stereotypes apply to me. There isn't much left for people to call me.

GINGERS DO HAVE SOULS!!

But umm... today in class I made a comment about how I found a section in The Catcher in the Rye heartbreaking, and my friend said only I would say that because I'm gay. I proceeded to tell him that my sexuality had nothing do with it, and that his response to my comment was fucking moronic.

I get some shit for being Christian. There's a bunch of assumptions thrown at me once people figure it out.

I dunno, I don't really see a bunch of that shit, I don't tend to be near people who make assumptions like that, most of the people I hang around with are my fellow uni students and the kids I work with who have to show me at least some respect because I am responsible for their safety.

I probably get more of it than I know, I kinda do the whole water off of a duck's back because all of the shit I deal with is my choice (I'm a gamer, I'm rather skinny, I'm kinda silly, I'm a know-it-all) so I don't care.

I don't have to deal with sexism, racism, or any of that shit so I can't complain. I mean sure, people assume I'm stuck up because I'm a skinny white boy who talks a little fancy, but I am stuck up and I don't care.

I assume I kind of avoid some of that as I act according to my company. If people are put out by me talking about gaming, or physics, or other nerdy shit I don't talk about it. If people don't give a fuck about my car or the Celtics, I talk about other things. I don't walk up to people who're wearing singlets and boots covered in concrete and say "Get a load of those CERN chaps, that was a landmark discovery with the Higgs Boson wasn't it?" I say "Fuck, the Eagles did shit on the weekend didn't they?"
