An FYI on Soaps mohawk... seeing he is spec op (TASK 141 whatever), these guys not follow military dress code. They are supposed to be like ghosts and blend in with a crowd. If you see guy walking around with a mohawk, the last thing you are going to think is spec ops never mind military. Razor short hair cut very obvious, mohawk not so much.
I agree with this and about special ops being more lenient on dress code. I wouldnt choose a mohawk as the best way to blend in with a crowd though, but I understand what your getting at and it makes sense.

Just to me it seemed more like "look Soap has a mohawk, isnt that cool? just one more reason to buy this game" I guess it just struck me as slightly uneccessary

Gonna pretend i didnt read page 2 and 3 and ask why everyone keeps asking if the nuke could of affected the space station, the answer has already been said, but ill say this to possibly blow your minds, it was an EMP not a nuke.

MW2 is the best example of a a simple, fun game to me. A game that you really have to check out for awhile to really enjoy it.

The single player is a total neo-con jerk off fantasy, complete with upon-death quotes from DICK CHENEY and DONALD RUMSFELD. Not to mention the references to Red Dawn in the 'Wolverines!' chapter.

I do agree that the akimbo stuff is ridiculous- pretty sure firing two shotguns at once would probably fracture/bruise both of your arms. It's mostly why I just play multiplayer after going through the campaign.

Overall, I like the game because its just so press and go- easy to pick up and understand and dick around with.

Multiplayer annoys me more than Single-player.

The spawn system in particular. I have lost count of the times I have either spawned and then was immediately shot, or I've shot a guy and he has respawned about 30 feet away behind the next corner. And since he knows where I am, he kills me.

I got spawn killed by a motherfucking Sentry Gun once. I just stared at the screen in disbelief.
I always enjoy the spawns that puts you right under an incoming predator missile, or looking down the barrel of the guy who just killed you. Those are my favourite
Oh yeah, today I joined a game in progress and half a second later I got blown up by a Predator Missile.

One time I was playing Terminal and was shot at the end of that corridor. Game spawns me literally a few feet away, I walk forward to get the guy and shot again. Spawn in the same spot. Then I had an idea: "how many times can I get shot by this one guy until the game catches on and spawns me in a different position?". I stopped after about half a dozen times, realising I was just making an idiot out myself.

Rust is the worst for this, but even on Wasteland, a map that is HUGE (so plenty of places where there are no enemies) the game keeps spawning me in the same spot, about 100m from an enemy to my left. Who is in plain sight.

And if you have one flag on Domination you spawn around it so when someone gets a Chopper Gunner you just get spawnkilled over and over. And then he'll probably get a Tactical Nuke and win the game. Fun times.

I doubt anyone will agree with me but I couldn't find a single thing good about MW2. The campaign is short, boring, and easy even on veteran and the multiplayer is a frustrating unplayable mess. I guess this just isn't my type of game; I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who can go 92-13 while calling in 5 chopper gunners and not have fun doing it. My biggest complints aren't the overpowerng killstreaks or the billions of places to camp, but the poorly designed maps and the bull crap perks; With ninja you can stop your heart from beating. With commando you can slide across the ground 10ft. and instantly kill someone. Sit rep gives you x-ray vision. Cold-blooded... just doesn't make sense and One Man Army lets you pull a sniper rifle at of your ass whenever you want. Oh, but I have even more to complain about like late join, leaderboards beyond repair, the spawn killing,... even the god damn weather( don't tell me you actually like that rain and fog on Underpass, the blizzard at Sub Base, and the sand storm at Quarry). And lets not forget the noob tubes. So there's my rant of the day.

only problem I have: the walls are like paper. I should NOT be sitting in the Plane Cockpit and get shot through the boarding terminal, into another wall blocking my corpse THEN into the cockpit its ridiculous.

I agree, anything I could add would be repetitive.

One thing, a nuke in space would not affect the space station, that was the point where I thought the game had Jumped the shark/Nuked the fridge.
... Uh huh... I'm prescribing a Physics 2 class for your next semester of highschool.
Explosions are transfered through mediums. There was no medium. It depends on the distance from the initial detonation and how much micro-shrapnel hit the station. Plausably the distance between the explosion and the station was too far to cause serious damage with micro-shrapnel and the station would not be torn apart as if the explosion effects it. Also the explosion was disproportionate in order to add to the badly done awe effect.
thank you sir,
what he said.
I am pretty sure there are some sophisticated explanation for that. waves can travel without a medium, like electromagnetic waves and radiation waves. shit like that will reach the space station because there is no atmosphere between to mitigate the effects. and space stations are so complex it only takes a tiny bit of tampering to fuck it up beyond all hope. I am not qualified to lecture on this but from what i have learned i feel like something to this effect might be plausible. you are entirely right that there would be no actual effectual explosion because the debris would spread apart so far and the explosion would consume itself for lack of oxygen to sustain a blast for any period of time. but waves would not be hampered by these problems in the least. and all the sensitive equipment on space stations are very tempermental and i feel like any such wave could easily cause a malfunction leading to an explosion of said equipment.

classic hollywood logic, slight tampering/computer error = explosion.
Hypothesis: Oxygen converter/ whatver makes that oxygen get blocked, buildup of gas with nowhere to go. buildup of pressure then explosion. or something to that effect

Ok here are my problems with MW2 - yeah there basically all multiplayer, after all I enjoyed the story for what it was and seeing the EMP in game form for the first time was actually pretty fun too.

1: Since when was the knife a damn Halo rip-off of the Energy Sword(laser sword, whatever)? I honestly have seen some of the most annoying crap in the game with it for instance I pilled bullets from my shotguns, P-90's, ACR's etc. and some ass hat just sprints close enough to me and then teleports through my now knifed corpse, because of some ass hat dash move that I've only ever seen from the Halo's energy sword.

2: Hit detection - yeah I'm moaning about hit detection, I've watched the kill cam a dozen times all in one day to see the most annoying possibilities for instance this morning, I pilled bullets into a man's head - with Red Dot sights and the cross hair doing that annoying little thing it does to give notice that your hitting someone and then I die - WTF?! the kill cam shows... only one of my shots doing any damage while the rest do nothing...

Another example would be the time I launched a locked-on Stinger missile at a helicopter, the rocket fires and a second later the rocket is gone, as if nothing happened - except the helicopter sees me and I turn into swiss cheese...

3: The overpowered Akimbo, or should I say underpowered in the P90's case.

In all points I've heard that the P90 is supposed to be a really effective weapon in close range combat at 100% accuracy I should be able to kill a lot of things no problem, nope I can barely kill a guy before I'm either out of ammo or being killed myself.

Then you have the Akimbo for the Model 1887(sp) this kills everything and everyone with a simple shot - this is essentially bull shit...

If I recieve flak for this - then all the funnier, but those are my points.
I am assuming you have not played the game online for at least a month or so then? because an early patch nerfed the Model 1887's they are nowhere near the overpowered behemoths they were. Now the SPAS are the overpowered shotguns but that is ok because they are pump-action so the fire rate compensates for that
I've actually been playing the multiplayer since I completed the story a few hours after getting the game which I got about two weeks after release day - assumption's going nowhere as usual. The point being that I've seen no change in it's fire power no matter the circumstances - I'm not saying I'm some ungodly guru at the game that survives everything or some shit - my deaths exceed my kills by quite a bit, the damage of the shotgun however still hasn't changed unless I'm at long range where the shells can't hit shit...
No what they did was nerf the range. not the power.

it was a nuke, but detonated at a high altitude, the effect will still be that of an emp, but with the blast as well, god only knows how it blew the space station away, due to the fact there is minimal atom density, but that is moot anyway
gotta have a little artistic license

I agree at some points, but to be honest, MW2 was actually the first 'good' Call of Duty game for me, honest.

I like your avatar.

MW2 is a fantastic single player game, and the multi is almost great, let down by some huge flaws.

I've since gone back to COD4, and here's a few reasons why:

Chopper Gunner
Akimbo
Camping
SMGs suck
AC 130
Goddamn motherfucking NUKE

The main problem I have with this game is: Why does 1 American doing something stupid end up with Russia INVADING the USA? That in itself is fucking retarded.

Thanks for the compliment. And I hate to break it do you but your not going to avoid camping by playing COD4 ;)

I guess you could argue that a couple of muslims did something stupid a couple of years ago in 2001 and now look where we are. Invading the middle east. Just pointing that out for the sake of argument.

I agree though, it is pretty far fetched that Russia would just invade like that

Nope, but COD4 is much more rusher friendly, barring one or two maps (creek and overgrown).

I don't know why, but despite the new guns, perks, and upgrades and custmisation I still preffer cod4 online. Actually, I also preffer the storyline of cod4 not because it's more "beleivable" like you said(which is a valid point of view nevertheless) but because it's better explained in cod mw2 you're just thrown at some missions that don't fit at all. but I guess special ops with friends compensates the rest....
