The lingering look two characters give each other in the first fifteen seconds of meeting each other which indicates they're going to fall in love.
At least try to surprise me with a relationship once in a while, film.

Actually, pretty much anything to do with love in films qualifies since it's usually so ridiculously cliché or unrealistic.

That the American writers (since this happen only in US films) felt they really need to have everyone clapping at the end of the film like an applaused to something that isn't necessary, example at the end of Harry Potter 2 when Hagrid return at the end of the film which the entire pupil and staff clap. Why the hell the pupils clap by his return? They hardly know him!!

Also in most zombies related movies, it seen the concept of the "undead" had never existed in that film universe!!! Are the writers afraid to make refence to the Night of the living dead, zombies games or think the general publics had never heard of a zombie before?

I've got a few that annoy me. I'll spare you the obvious tropes (token black guy ALWAYS dies first, etc.)since those are "no shit" type answers.

Now, as an amateur filmmaker, I work with special effects, both digital and practical on a semi-regular basis, so bad special effects stand out. No, I'm not talking about the hilariously and easily spotted fakeness like Birdemic's birds. No, right now I'm going to use the movie Skyline as an example. My friend and I found ourselves really pissed at a certain scene in the movie, where an atom bomb goes off about half a block down from the main characters' apartment, and it winds up getting it all wrong from a physics standpoint. Now if you know anything about explosives, you'll know that in addition to the blast of fire and smoke, there's a kinetic shockwave of sorts that demolishes and repels any object in the blast radius. The bigger the bomb, the bigger the shockwave. The bomb in skyline was easily a nice big one that could level a couple blocks. In the film however, it doesn't do shit towards anything outside the initial firey blast. I man, for fuck's sake, at least knock down the characters. You know what did this right? Mass Effect 3. In the beginning a reaper destroys a human ship in a catastrophic explosion that knocks Shep down and knocks out the girder they stand on through sheer kinetic force. That's how you do it right.

On a side note: SEE? I CAN SAY NICE THINGS ABOUT MASS EFFECT 3!

Shaky cam. It's not that I get motion sickness from it (although I understand that people do, which in itself is a valid reason to never use it ever), but it's just annoying as shit and adds absolutely nothing to the film. Also, lens flare for the exact same reasons. Hell, just about anything that reminds me that I'm watching the movie through a camera pisses me off, especially because the only reason these things are in the movie is because they were deliberately added to it.

Killing off my favourite character! God! Scumbag mangas I swear... The issue of Medaka Box i'm on almost killed my favourite character... Well, technically he did die. He just got his "lol that never happened" power back as soon as he died. Trololol. To be fair, If I had to describe Kumagawa in one word it would be "troll." XD

I like that about MB, they can make something really serious in a comedic manga. Like I knew this wasn't the type of manga where someone would actually, y'know, die. But I believed it. Power of good writing haterz

Oh and opening up an interesting topic, character arc, sub plot etc etc then randomly forgeting about it. Fucking what?

There are too many love films, honestly at least romantic comedy animes are actually funny. They don't drop all their jokes halfway through. Baka to Test is the perfect example. Two (three?) seasons where romance develops but it's still funny as ever.

Ah maybe because films outstay their welcome over 2 hours whereas two 18/20 episode seasons lets it spread out a bit. That makes sense. So perhaps those films suffer from terrible pacing issues half of the time? I wouldn't know I find them completely uninteresting.

not in the film itself, but a really annoying thing has been happening to all the trailers suddenly. They are all infected with the inceptiony BWAAAAAAAAAAM sound. That got real old real fast. just stop doing it and get your own trailer music

You hate that they have the head freeze or that it doesn't freeze? Because the head wouldn't freeze solid. There is no air in space so there is nothing to carry the heat away from your body. You'll suffocate long before you freeze.

It's not really the writer's fault, but I can't stand terrible line reading. Nothing sucks the fun out of a movie faster than someone reading their lines like they swallowed an entire bottle of Benadryl.

Bad humour, shaky cam, annoying characters... Basically all Transformers movies.

Also not a film, but Lost ending. Deus Ex Machina, unresolved plot holes, a story that seems full of mysteries just for the sake of it, but where most of them have no explanation because the creators made it all along the way. That! Something that appears to be deep by being confusing, but just doesn't make much sense like Inception.

Also crappy, useless characters like most people in Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, Jar-Jar Binks and many, many characters in the Star Wars prequels.

I also hate movies that make everyone a teenager like Twilight. At least Harry Potter has characters of all ages.

Also remakes and reboots!!!!!!!! Think about something original, you lazy directors! You can find inspiration in things that already exist, but stop this nonsense!

Out of place love scenes irritate me to no end, but the big one is what I call 'I forgive you' plot points.

Not to be confused with redemption stories, those are great, but they're plots that require a character to do something absolutely horrendous and to have the other characters simply forgive him/her to progress and it's often never referenced ever again. In my opinion, it's the worst kind of Deus Ex Machina and cheapens the whole production.

One thing in this area that I've been thinking about, which frustrates me to no end, is when there is some sort of small, adorable female companion with a well-structured personality introduced into the story, which by the end, she reverts to her "true" form, that turns out to be a generic bimbo with the earlier-seen color scheme still intact, while her personality gets sucked out and traded off for sex appeal.

Examples include The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and the story arc in Bleach in which Ichigo and his friends head for Las Noches to rescue Orihime. The offenders are Midna and Nel, respectively. They were actually my favorite characters, up until those points. It completely disregards everything about themselves. You do not trade originality, well-rounded characterization, and adorableness for generic bimbo sex appeal. It's flat-out vile.

- It really teases me when the majority of the cast is male. Does that character truly need a penis to be possible?
- I also get mad whenever sexually liberated people get portrayed as 'weirdos'.
- Another thing that bugs me is calling women girls. When was the last time you classified a 28-year-old man as a boy?
- Confirmation of stereotypes is another one that just pisses me off.
- There are also those times when a strong opinion about a certain subject matter is shoehorned into a movie. That is also infuriating, especially when all characters disagreeing with said opinion are portrayed as evil and completely wrong.
- Lastly, I don't want to see nihilism or grittiness embraced as concepts, ever again.
