In this day and age where the internet is king, if you cannot find good music, it means either you are unsatisfiable or extremely lazy.

Out of all of the things that didn't wane in popularity, why did one of them have to be nostalgia goggles?

I think you're misunderstanding what I said, I was actually complimenting both these movies. How To Train Your Dragon is the first sincere movie Dreamworks Animation has made since The Prince of Egypt. And Tangled is like a love child between Pixar and a Disney princess; I freaking adore it.

What I meant to say was that hopefully these two quality films suggest that American animation has finally moved passed the snarky, pop culture-referencing, easy laughs, A-lister voice acted crappy cartoons that we've had to suffer through this past decade.

It's nice that The Strokes and Radiohead's latest albums are charting, but it's certainly not the impact they used to have. I'm personally a bit fed up of auto-tuned r&b/pop dance hybrid tracks about getting wasted. Of course, it's a phase and this sort of thing goes full circle.

I was thinking of all those things as well when I saw the thread topic
Also, I was one of the many that collected pogs. Pogs were bloody amazing. They just seemed to disappear over night though.
