I think that humans in general, myself included, are short-sighted, self-centered, apathetic, over-emotional, gullible assholes who've been leading this planet gradually further and further down the drain since our ancestors crawled out of the Great Rift Valley. But I think that we'll get better.
When I got called over by a collegue the other day to identify a strange blue light that was causing him much concern.
I turned the projector off for them and all was right with their little world.
(This is someone who has in theory worked with IT for the last 9 years to give you the proper context)

Right at this very moment, an innocent man is being tortured somewhere.
Right at this very moment, a woman is being brutally raped somewhere.
Right at this very moment, a child is dying from starvation somewhere.
And if I hadn't just mentioned that, you wouldn't have given a thought to any of them.

People who love to complain, but hate to explain. Also kids who scream their head off for no apparent reason.
Nothing. I'm a romantic. The worst humanity gets, the more light there is at the end of the tunnel. Too many people on the internet are a bunch of whinny emo reculuses that say "whaa whaaa, a new star wars, whaa whaa a bad game, whaa whaaa, companies making money, I lose faith in humanity whaaa whaaa". Some people just need to grow up.
That more people will pay £1 to vote on a reality TV show, than vote for the leader of the country, when that vote is free. (I admit they'd have to actually get up and leave the couch to do it however, maybe that's the problem.)
In this area of the forums, you will notice a thread about someone wanting to claim ownership of the sun. Need I say anymore? Plus, the list is too long, and i'm tired.
Sadly I lost my faith in humanity so long ago I can't remember what the original reason was. Some things that have validated that loss of faith though is:
Black friday mobs trampling each other for sales.
So many human hours spent playing World of Warcraft and so many lives being ruined by it.
The fact that the world has seen what nukes can do but we still have not disarmed them all and ensured no more were made ever.
The fact we pollute the planet and still don't seem to think population control is important.
Prisoners being treated better then the old and infirm.
Our two party political system in America where nobody but the rich seem to come out ahead.
The recent abandonment of our space program.
The fact that cigarettes are still sold and that the government TAXES them.
Our obvious subservience and enslavement to cats (we are all just pawns in their paws).
Firefly being canceled.
The fact that our education system is for profit and not effective or efficient at all.
The ability for so many wars, torture, and atrocities by humans over small differences in religions.
The fact that the most selfish usually seem to rise to the top in power in almost every society.
Pedophiles and the fact we don't freaking kill them or lock them up permanently after the first offense.
The ability of so many people to ignore global warming as even a possibility and not even bothering to recycle.
Biological weapons existing and being created all the time that can destroy all life on this planet.
To many more to list. The only thing about humanity I have faith in is that before it destroys itself it will take down the rest of the world as well. We have tons of ways to do that already and we are not done yet.

not so much the show itself, but merely the premise; a group of porn stars and strippers playing dungeons and dragons.. REALLY, Escapist? Fucking really? I mean, seriously, this is just damn insulting.
I mean, i have no problem with having a show about a game of dungeons and dragons, infact, i'd love something like that. but the very fact that this show's specific hook is that its pornstars playing, just makes me lose faith in the Escapist, and to an extent, humanity
