You could scan your passport and pay the fee based on the weight of your luggage and yourself were scanned by the scanning sections of the portal booth and you were cleared for teleportation you can hit the switch and arrive at the destination in a matter of moments with your stuff either hand carry or in a bundle to your right. It would be easier, faster, and cheaper than what would be paid at an airport. Side effects may include being lost in the teleportation due to blackouts, nausea, and possible loss of your baggage if you make it through and then the blackout/power outage happens. Warnings will be given for traveling to areas that constantly participate in load shedding which is purposely shutting off the power to save electricity.
Oh, they have those:That said:Jetpacks (I mean proper ones that actually last for more than 5 minutes).

well, the phrase running on water is a bit misleading. they run on hydrogen and oxygen gas, but emit water as a waste product. and its not so much that they get the energy from the water, but instead the hydrogen and oxygen gas act like a chemical battery for storing energy. really when you think about it, its not all that great of an idea, tho the hydrogen and oxygen gas ARE much lighter than lead batteries in electric cars, and don't pollute as much as gasoline (tho the electricity for creating the hydrogen is mostly derived from fossil fuel based sources, so it really doesn't do that much good overall)twaddle said:hover boards.

proper stungloves. (i said proper ones dammit!)
cars that run on water as fuel (truthfully they have invented this but they won't let it become comercial because certain industries would colaspe)
