I didn't know a thing like "The Escapist subculture" existed.

But since really the only thing I do here is troll and watch ZP, I'll answer :)

I didn't really like Saints Row 2. The graphics (Xbox 360) didn't really do it for me. I have to admit I like the GTA IV style better.

Dunno much else... :)

I am not an elitist, nor do I have an overinflated ego.
I am no single company fanboy. I like Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Metroid, Half-Life, TF2, Command & Conquer, Halo, Call of Duty, Mega Man, Street Fighter, Max Payne, and Sonic (up till Adventure 2, and 4).
I'm not a grammar nazi, and I don't care if something is "search bar approved."
I still hold faith in humanity.

BITE ME.

I find Halo to be the best series ever made, I found Half-Life 2 to be a very "meh" game and I have not enjoyed a game on my PC in years.
I agree hole heartedly on all of these points.

Sooo . . . from reading the rest of this thread, I'm guessing the "Escapist Stereotype" = Yahtzee. Which probably even he would find offensive, cause there's only one Yahtzee.

I LOVE GAME STOP!!!!
I play a sport: Hockey (kinda)
I think graphics are the least important quality of a movie/game
I don't mind repeat threads
and Red Dead Redemption is boring as hell (so far have not heard anyone agree with me)

I thought the escapist stereotype was people in suits with top hats and monocles dispensing big-worded opinions in between drinking cups of tea and mocking the commoners of other forums...

My faith in humanity will always be there and i genuinely believe that mankind at heart is good.
I hate Half-Life 2 (including the episodes) and Portal.
I love MW2.
I am really good at sports (that is soccer and basketball, plus i can easily run 1-kilometer in under 5 minutes, probably a lot less if i really tried)
I do not own a current-gen console.
I believe that graphics can have as much importance as gameplay and that whether or not good graphics are needed is situational (you wouldn't give a realistic FPS kirby-like graphics and acidic colors).

I hate valve, and especially portal.
I rarely play pc games, and usually pirate them.
I hate the escapist stereotype.
Halo is my favourite FPS series.
I hate any kind of elitists, and arrogant people in general.
I have never owned a pokemon game (except for the one i just bought which i technically own until i give it to my sister tomorrow)
I don't like most nintendo games.
I don't like anything about TF2, except a couple of the 'meet the...' trailers/parodies.
I'm British.
I think Yahtzee is a pretty funny guy, not the saviour of mankind.
I think 'Jack and Calumon' is a total ****.
I hate whoever developed timesplitters, and the game itself.
I consider graphics to be an important part of a game.

I could go on...
I don't agree with you on any of these points and think the opposite on most, and am very curious about your other opinions. Please go on.

hmm i suppose i could add to this flame a bit.

i dont hate valve, but i find every game besides l4d 1 and 2 boring as hell from them, i literally fall asleep in half life and portal all the damn time as i try to like them, but fall asleep because im so bored and can't stand them. so in short, i dislike the cult that is valve fans and i dislike what valve develops for the most part.

i think gordan freeman is average and cliche in the storytelling department and he is a cutout character as he never adds fucking anything to the game.

i don't like Yahtzee at all, not even for humor, i think most of his jokes are duh's and aren't funny at all. before you flame, yes i do understand them, yes i play most of those games so i do know what he is talking about, but they aren't funny and i have yet to see one that is actually more then a "eh i suppose that was kinda funny"

i use it all the damn time, as ive bought alot more games on the pc these days, but i hate the keyboard + mouse combo, i find it extremely uncomfortable and annoying.

i like jrpg's alot for the most part, dont have time to play them too much these days but i do love em and understand them, and hell, i prefer their characters over 90% of anything the west has to offer.

i suppose another one is i dont hate religion, nor do i hate anybody who doesn't believe in it, i just can't fucking stand anyone, primarily some people i have seen on here, who turn into the most elitist snobs on the planet because you have/dont have faith in something.

the only music i dont listen to is country, otherwise im huge on rap and hip hop, i dont sit around listening to the most underground garbage metal and hard rock on the planet trying to act cool and rebellious for finding out and liking some garage band before they hit a 5 dollar show and flaunting it to people for liking anything different.

i suppose that covers some of it off the top of my head...

oh and...
