Well one could say we are a bunch of pretentious leftist elitists that like to think we're better then the rest of the internet and spend all of our time misinterpreting each other like the rest of the web, but unlike them we try to make our stupid comments sound smart so we make up crap like;
-'Well that's my opinion and it isn't going to change.'(I'm a stubborn bigot who doesn't know what opinion means.)
-'I'm appalled that some people can't *blank*' (I disagree with you, but instead of using logic I decided to make your argument seem politically incorrect.)
-'Political Correctness is a travesty!' (It's cool to be above those sensitive people, because they just don't understand.)
-'Video games aren't bad for you!' (I'm only regurgitating what I've told myself and what video news sites have told me because I can't bother to research it, but I'm still better then people who watch Fox news because I'm right!)
-'I don't have to explain myself to you.' (I didn't want to add to the discussion but I still wanted to post my opinion, even though the OP states specifically that he wants to know why people think that way.)

All said there, I'm pretty sure I don't fit that, mainly because I've figured those things tend to not get you far socially, and also because I rarely post here anymore.

Well...
I have nothing against Republicans, Christians, capitalists, etc. despite not being one. I don't really get a kick out of making fun of that kind of thing. On a similar note, I really don't enjoy getting into religious/political debates. I actually kind of avoid those. I've never made a Sarah Palin/Bill o'Reilly/Fox News related joke.

Mostly, it is that I'm not an atheist wich it seems like 9/10 escapist-type-persons are.
Well, that topic went cold for me fast. Though I am surprised to see so little flaming on those that say that they are religious, I was in a thread once, and was the flaming fest on me. Oh boy, that was really not fun.
