Hot showers are great & I have to second the long drives, so very peaceful, but I grew up in a car driving back & forth across the country. I have found that giving back massages to others to be very relaxing, I just kinda zone out.....Chasing-The-Light said:I do this too, so you're not alone! Only, for me, I do it when anything is ever wrong with me. xD Headaches, time of the month pains, fever, anything.DugMachine said:When I have a huge headache I like to take extremely hot showers for temporary relief. I never figured out how that works tbh.
Hot head + really hot shower = Relief... somehow
Anyway, to go along with this, when I'm really stressed and I need to relax and feel better I enjoy a good meditation session. .... In the shower. >.> Yeah. I don't know. Somehow I feel like the sound of the shower keeps things from distracting me.
I also enjoy nice, long drives. I think it stems from, as a kid every time I went in the car I'd always have my headphones and CD player. So now I enjoy just driving around and listening to music. Too bad gas costs so much....
I also enjoy having people play with my hands. >.>; Like, very lightly tracing the fold lines and what not. My hands are ridiculously sensitive, so it feels wonderful to me.
Indeed, you always seem to beat me to the punch Sir/Madam Clarion.Daystar Clarion said:It's hardly weird, but I love the sound of rain.
Nothing soothes me more than listening to this site [http://www.rainymood.com/] with my eyes closed.
Wow, for some reason this makes my hair stand on end. It is calming though.saoirse13 said:I like my feet or my face, though i hate feet and people anywhere near my own.
The sound of whispers. I duno why i like it its kinda creepy to begin with but then very relaxing. There is even a channel on youtube for it, called the WhisperingVoice

Oh hey, I like the wall thing too. Can't say I've ever tried to do the plate thing, though.fuzzy logic said:Touching my forehead against a flat, hard surface makes me feel better; feeling the constant, unmoving reliability of a wall or shelf or something soothes me. Putting a plate's edge (like a hard ceramic dining plate) against my face going vertically down the valley between my nose and eye, has the same effect. No, I do not do the plate thing in public. I bet if I had OCD, I would do these two things all the time.
Ohh god yeah!.... Bob... Don't stop! That is damn soothing, I'll remember him.BiscuitTrouser said:snip
Wow, I could actually feel my blood pressure dropping as I watched that. It was just amazing watching the image evolve on the canvas.BiscuitTrouser said:Shameful admission.
When im stressed i watch... the Joys of painting with Bob Ross... yeah...
Hes such a nice person. His voice is so relaxing and his technique is so beautiful. His entire attitude radiates calm and collected. You cant help but feel serene watching this man paint. I cant even draw and i really enjoy it. I really suggest as many people as possible check it out.
Did...did you just take me on a date? Any way what relaxes me is the sound of the clickity clack of a train. i know it sounds weird, but I've lived next to train tracks so long the sound has become soothing to me.anthony87 said:Daystar Clarion said:snipGentlemen, if it pleases you....Padwolf said:snip

OT: As well as the aforementioned rain, one thing that soothes me is.....aircraft. Seriously. If I'm lying in bed early in the morning and a helicopter or aeroplane flies overhead, the sound of the rotors/engines will just knock me right back to sleep.
YANA. If the CIA was serious about MK Ultra and mind control experiments, they would use Bob Ross tapes. That man could turn me into a Manchurian Candidate.BiscuitTrouser said:Shameful admission.
