Tricky. As for first two propositions, "NEVER" is pretty heavy word. We really don't know what future holds for us. Scenarios similar to "Neon Genesis Evangelion", or "Solaris" with whole race melted into single ocean-organism seem unlikely now, but so was global communication, nanotechnology or space travels only a few hundred of years ago.

As for crime... We can prevent violent crimes by means of chemistry, genetics. Huxley's "Brave New World" hints that. So does Lem's "Return from the Stars" and "The Futurological Congress".
However we probably can't rule out crimes of other sorts. Law itself is flawed and there's strong possibility to commit crime without even knowing it. I guess that by abandoning law at all we would be free of criminality... :)

Anyways, even if we somehow, someway, find undeniable proof that there is no god of any kind, people will still believe in a god.
Believeing in some deity doesn't actualy makes you religious person. It makes you spiritual. Or looney - depending on your approach. ;)
So, one day there may be no religion, only pure faith. "I believe, and that's it, i don't judge, i don't think about deity, i know it's just there and that's fine, nothing more, nothing to see, move along".

OT : Eye of Beholder won't ever be considered best game of all times. :)

I will never have sex.
Reason: I am a loser who is incapable of making anyone happy and thus i am unworthy of the love and care of a woman.

Iran will never have a viable nuclear weapon. Israel (and more than like the US as well) would join forces and bring so much pain upon them that it would be talked about for centuries. People would say "you better not do that. You don't want to get Iran'd!"

But I digress.

A zombie apocalypse will never happen (kind of sadly).

Wow...

As much as I think this will be all for naught, I don't lose anything by saying it:

If you can see the mistakes you're making, you're in every position to change it. That includes giving up and using words like 'never' on your own happiness.

OT:

Pretty much what OP said, there will never be an end to war, poverty, or one person trying to take advantage of another - at least in my mind. I think there will also never be a point in which humans will stop advancing and progressing. I like to end on a positive.

Rule 3 - What if money was never invented? Which is kind of funny, because there is actual proof of some civilizations that would actually negate rule three altogether. Crime and greed never really existed among some Native American tribes (among other tribes and locations).

It's funny you say that because I genuinly believe inventing money was the worst thing we as humans have done.

If you think about it having no money would make everyone more equal, it would also promote a better and more caring society as people would build/make/do things because they could or to gain something from another person in return so we would do more things for others, there would also be less stress in the world if no one is concerned about finances and hell maybe you'd even get rid of or lessen poverty (esp in poor countries), homelessness and crime.

But yeah OT: Poverty/crime/homelessness/equality/complete freedom etc.

There will never be true equality. There will however be the kind of equality that makes people of races and sexes have more or less the same benefits and consequences. Racism and sexism, by definition, makes true equality impossible.

Also, a good Starship Troopers adaptation.

Let see-
There will never be a ultimate cure to all dieases.
There will never be real heroes with superpowers (and for good reason).
DC and Marvel will never make their superheroes grow to old ages (that the whole points to these reboots, they don't age with us).

I disagree on all three points, OP... the solution to any of those is simply the extinction of the human species.

I'm of the "never say never" school of thought. Everything changes eventually.

the entire universe will never fade out of existence, only to fade back in 3 seconds later.

You will never get rid of racism, its a fact.
No, it's not. It's a guess.

2. No poverty. This is pretty self explanatory. The places where there is poverty, they dont have environment to cope. Africa, where poverty is a massive thing, has no or very little rain. This is needed to keep their crops alive. They don't have the ground type to keep crops alive either. There will also never be enough farms to produce food for Africa from other countries.
With enough research, rain and soil might someday become unnecessary to produce crop. Also, we could develop weather changing technology, as well as make artificial soil and/or modify the existing ones.

kidwithxboxlive said:
3. No crime. This is also self explanatory. People will have little money for basics and need to get money another way. They can't borrow money because they wont be able to pay it back. They will then get that money through ill ways, therefore creating crime.
What if we made machines that can produce food for us and provide us with energy, without a single human being having to lift a finger? It's not impossible, just hard to do.

... Ew, that was an ugly sentence. It's, like... an appropriate double negative...

Anyways, even if we somehow, someway, find undeniable proof that there is no god of any kind, people will still believe in a god.

Now, for my second thing- we will never be able to find undeniable proof that there is no god.

Go, agnosticism!
If there won't be a demand for religion, the suppliers will quit. It's hard to imagine a world without it because it has been around for so long but it is possible and what is more, I think that it will happen within the next 4-5 centuries.

Speaking of religion:

There will never be a rapture.

Exactly. Looking back in history on all the people who said "Slavery will never end here!" or "Women will never have a vote" or "The Church will never stop being so powerful!" or "Europe will never have one largely dominant currency" I think that the only people who can look smart in retrospect are the ones who shut up and watched what happens.

A single global currency. Well, we can't really imagine it happening I guess, due to all the Euro shenanigans right now. A pity, as it means I'll likely never get to live that ultimate of sci-fi dreams - buying something with credits!

So, this is a personal opinion thing. I'm basically asking you to give us reasons on things that you think will never happen (of your choice)
1. No war and complete equality. There will never be such a thing. You will never get rid of racism, its a fact. There will always be people not happy with something, or find a wrong doing somewhere, creating wars riots ect ect.
3. No crime. This is also self explanatory. People will have little money for basics and need to get money another way. They can't borrow money because they wont be able to pay it back. They will then get that money through ill ways, therefore creating crime.

Me getting with Emma Watson. Even though she's at Oxford, and I'll be visiting friends there at some point, and I have a psychology graduate telling me what to do in this situation...

What I'm saying is, she's still out of my league.

No support needed, fellow escapists.
