Pretty self explanatory.

I blame mine for my self indulgent attitude and love of alcohol... how about you?

Edit: Incidentally, I'm big on owning your own life and faults as a human being. Having said that, your formative years play a major role in what kind of adult you become, like it or not. It's a provable fact. So, your parents/caregivers are an integral part of the environment you grow up in.

very sensible advice

even if they did mess you up, after a certain point blaming them will only get you so far

I agree.

Mind you, I have a sneaking suspicion that my parents are somehow responsible for the existence of Norwegians. That might just be me, though.

I can blame them for a number of things, but that's all in the past. I'm an adult now and I'm responsible for my own life and my own decisions. We get on a lot better now actually because of that, so all in all I'm glad.

I blame them for not sending me to this Chinese school when I was little. Thanks to that I can speak Chinese fluent at all.
Regardless that is the past and nothing more. I accept the fact I can't speak and write it at all.

My birth I guess.

But in seriousness, I can only blame one of them for being too over-protective and worrying far too much, while I blame the other one for being a scumbag and a total coward.

I kinda resent now that they didn't really listen to me when I said I wanted to pick up guitar when I was 12 and as such lost a four year head start I would have had present day me. But to be fair, its kind of an expensive thing to take a risk on

i would blame them for misdiagnoses of adhd at the age of 4(1991) and 23 years of domestic violence

Causing me to exist. That's the only thing I cannot take personal responsibility for. Blaming your messed-up ways on your upbringing is kind of sad. You have a self-indulgent attitude and drink problems? Fucking change it, instead of shifting the blame to the people who spent a lot of their time and money on raising you.

Not being there, since my dad left when I was ten, which meant my mom had to work to support three kids on her own, but it's whatever. I like how I turned out.

Pretty faulty logic. I was plucked out of my Home Country when I was 12 and had to live in a Country with a entirely different language. That led up to my Grades going down severely which on the other Hands make it difficult for me to get a decent Job, how am I to blame for this? Try to finish the thought next Time. Your not directly responsible for everything in your Life, especially since your Parents have pretty much full control until your 18, enough of your adult Life depends on what happens before that.
I was plucked from ze Old Country when I was ten, learned to speak and write a new language better than most of my indigenous peers by reading constantly, and my grades only sucked because I'm a lazy bastard. Which is my fault, not my parents'.
You're not directly responsible for everything until you're 18, but you can work within the system to change your circumstances.
