An atom is more than 99% space.
Well, it's like...
Take a single atom of Carbon.
In a large open space, there's twelve cars spread out across a football field, and somewhere moving around at the speed of light another dozen baseballs within 4 kilometres of the feild. The baseballs are electrons and the cars are neutrons/protons. This is why it's theoretically possible to teleport objects through other objects; there's SOOO much space for particles to move around.
