I'm actually pretty terrible at baking, even though I love doing it.
It usually takes me a few attempts to get it right, I've thrown away countless cakes and cupcakes because of failed experiments, they haven't risen properly or they've burnt or look wonky or overfilled... sigh ;;
It's disheartening but I keep going and I feel like I've gotten better with practice. I still makes lots of mistakes.
What recipes do you follow? Experimenting with baking is a dangerous sport, it's fine to do with cooking, but cooking is art. Baking is science. You only mess with it if you already know what you're going to get.

Also don't listen to anyone who says you need specialist equipment. The best advice I can give is to not use electric mixers. Do everything by hand, that way you get a feel for consistencies etc. Once you can eyeball it, then you can start using snazzy whisks and paddles to save time, but until then, wooden spoons, and handheld manual whisks are your friends.

Honestly, pretty much anything I do that I enjoy doing. Especially true for fighting games, I'm about as bad as a two year old fighting Jackie Chan.

That's what I'm talking about, the moment you hear "nuclear launch detected" on games like Supreme Commander you know it's time to shit bricks (I've had co-op friends asking each other who launched who's nuke lol).

Also I love playing Starcraft II but cannot for the life of me play competitive multiplayer because it's too rush and quick paced with ridiculous multitasking and I'm not a god tier bred Korean =P
Oh god, I'm in love with Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, and hearing that "Strategic Launch Detected" still makes me scroll around in a panic. I love how Nukes are absolutely devastating when you can get them to land (Which is usually a challenge in and of itself), and I love how their explosions are just so pretty, especially the Seraphim Nukes (Yolona Oss. Mahgawd.)
The best thing about Supreme Commander - in my opinion - is the No Rush setting, I usually set it to 20 minutes so that everyone has their base set up and units producing before all the mayhem and destruction begins.
I'm more of a turtler, I'll build up a good defensive line high level turrets and short range artillery, and then build up my army to steamroll. Probably would build up indirect fire buildings as well, depending on my economy and time.
Supreme Commander 2 isn't that bad in my opinion, but I don't particularly like a lot of the changes, no tech levels, only a single defense for anti-air or anti-land (really needed advanced defensive structures and torpedo turrets), shields severely nerfed, economy a bit simplified, no Illuminate navy because "Oh they've got hover tanks.", no Artillery structure for the Illuminate for some strange reason, nukes aren't as devastating anymore, and a few other things.

I'm gonna have to go with RTS games as well, my mind for tactics on the spot simply isn't good enough. That and I'm sick to my teeth of rushers who use less strategy than I do,that and I'm usually mocked for being a more defensive player who doesn't like to take his chances.

The thing that really annoys me, though are the people who take it way too seriously. If I'm hosting a game (a rare event) then they get kicked because I hate having to deal with people who forget its a game we're playing and not an actual war. That and I usually end up In shouting matches with them which is why I don't really play online anymore on C&C games.

I too love nukes in my games along with the no rush option on Supreme com, I'm liking some of Supreme com 2's units but love 1 and FA's graphical designs.

I'm a bit of a turtle strategist myself since I only play with AI on Red Alert 3 (installed Shock therapy mod to fix numerous bugs and gain the expansion units for free and balanced) I end up having a Brutal on my side and square off VS two hard since my tactics are on pace with my Brutal partner so he doesn't end up finishing the game for me while keeping the game challenging and long.

I'm a bit of crazy nut when it comes to calculating those kind of things for matches but I've played alongside AI for years now and I still love seeing what I can do with/against them in terms of strategy and pacing tests.

in fact I tend to prefer AI than going against some humans because most I've been against are either:

1) Early rushers that want to end the game as fast as possible

2)Steam rollers that tend to rush but do so with a massive army to decimate you in one go

3) The spammer who uses no strategy (not even turtling) but to spam one type of unit and throw it at you in the hopes of a solid easy win with little to no loss due to one unit type cost.

Most of those 3 annoy me but some are passable and avoidable, except maybe the rusher since rushers tend to use different methods of attacking you at various points from the start and I'm not always wanting to be kept on my toes for very long because one of my weaknesses is having my early stage plans completely messed up by an early rush and having to deviate and stop the rusher while keeping my plans on schedule (the rusher usually benefits from messing up my plans while his own still go on without a hitch).

Which reminds me I should go back and check on Planetary annihilations updates since I own the game (boyfriend gifted me it for Xmas) and I'm hoping their nukes have gotten better along with being able to now use Stargates to send one army from one planet to another.

I hate rushers too, they end up using the same type of tactics which include quick and cheap units and usually trying to get to your base asap to screw up your build orders.

Thing is about Rushers is that they think it's fine to rush you because they think it's a good idea for both him and you to be on your toes and somehow sees that as fun, doing so forces you into his style of gameplay that you're not even remotely fond or comfortable with and in turn just plain screws you over.

I can be a defensive player but I'll also take the chances of laying low and manufacturing units at another location to throw at my enemies later (sometimes it's a combo of Air/ground).

I'd love to play some Kanes Wrath and Red Alert 3 and maybe C&C 4 online but we are so few in number and what people are left will probably still cling to the rushing tactics that tend to think out some players in general.

If I got rushed 6-7 out of 10 times in a day I'd usually not play that games multiplayer for at least a week or two and that's what rushers can do to me and it's just not fun.

League of Legends, sometimes. I know I'm awful. I can barely handle Beginner level AI. I frequently either overextend or play way too conservatively and thus never do anything useful. Combine that with the fact that I hate, hate, hate, hate PvP in any form that isn't "Play a game against your friends", and by all rights I should despise LoL. Yet I enjoy myself, even when dragged into the PvP nonsense by my more aggressive friends. I'm certainly never in any hurry to hop into a PvP match, but the game is enjoyable enough that I don't hate it completely.
Have you tried aram? That's pretty much the funnest pvp mode

I know what you mean, there came a time about a month ago on KW in which I played 8 consecutive games against rushers and I just quit playing online there and then. There is NO strategy involved in piling a load of cheap units towards your enemy's base and then repeating if it fails the first time.

On an on topic note, FPS games, I'm generally competent at TF2 but sit me in front of any aother game in the genre and watch the failure commence.

Nope. Mostly because I own a whole bunch of champions I don't want to play. They just came as part of the combo pack that got me the Goth Annie skin. So random has way too high a chance of sticking me with a character I don't want.

I've got to chime in when it comes to baking. It often turns out to taste OK, but it always looks like crap and I fail to get the proper consistency. I still remember that time I made muffins and I forgot baking soda. I tasted them when they were fresh out of the oven and I thought they were pretty good. Sadly once they had cooled down properly they were really compact. I just can't let that go...

I guess I could also say singing. I only sing when I am sure no-one can hear me. I don't have a good voice for it and I am more or less tone deaf, to top it off I don't have the lung capacity or the ability to breathe in and out vaguely enough to keep it up through an entire song. Maybe if I tried singing less demanding songs I could ease myself into it, but then what's the fun in that?

Billiards and golf - I'm terrible at them, but they tend to be tied to certain social events (or work events) and that's the part that makes it fun.

That also means it's the only time I do either one, so I never get any better - and the golf part is actually embarrassing because I actually lived across the street from a golf course for 4 years and could easily have gotten in some practice, but I never bothered. No one to blame but myself!

Playing fighting games in general (except for Super Smash Brother series) expecially when I am playing verses against my brother. I only get better if I learn their moves most of the time, it's depends how easy or hard it is to pull of their moves.

Punting.

It's a pretty niche activity, granted, but it's kind of a big deal in Oxford, where I live. My friends and I go punting all the time in the summer and have been doing so for a few years, but despite that I absolutely suck at it. Doesn't bother me though; I don't even avoid showing myself up, which is pretty unusual for me. It's fun, and it's a way for us to spend time together, so that's all that matters.

I'm the same way except for one thing... I don't enjoy fighting games.[footnote]Except for the Super Smash Brother series xD[/footnote] :p

I do rock at Melee and can play competently in Brawl. I'm going to be at a disadvantage for the next gen of Smash Bros though as I'll probably be unable to use my special controller [http://www.gamefront.co.uk/catalog/images/wii_mad_catz_gc_microcon_orange.jpg] with the Wii U version. I'm assuming they've ditched the Gamecube controller ports on the console but I haven't had a first hand experience with a Wii U yet so maybe there's a way to use a GC controller.

I'm a damn near perfectionist who is irritated by the most minor things. And yet I like to relax. Things don't go well. In fact, things get stressful. And then people get cuts. And an ambulance.

I'm also horrible at fighting games. Which sucks because I've recently gotten into Skullgirls, which is by one of my more favourite artists, Alex Ahad, and you can just tell how much love went into the game. Not user-friendliness.

I'm also horrible at cooking. Well, horrible is... a strong word. I once food poisoned an infant. But he did climb into my back yard. It's justified! He was breaking and entering. I had a right to defend myself.

I'm relatively good at drawing. I've started to develop my own style at drawing characters (it's highly influenced by the manga I read and games I play, and I just kind of went from there) but if I've been drawing for a whle or I'm tired, they're completley unrecognisable. They're a mess. The background is a 4th-period, bored sketch in the margins. Maybe I should just give up drawing... nah.

Well, I guess we are all reasonable and adult enough to talk about this, right?

So yeah, I am not great at it. Kinda lacking enough praxis, normally there were about two months between each "session", so I never really got the hang of it, especially since I am AWFUL at controlling the motions of my body in a precise manner (unless it involves typing).

Airsoft, though that might be partly my fault because I had bbs with too low a mass for the feet-per-second. I still love it though and I'm a self proclaimed pussy who is terrified of most theme park rides.
