Table top war gaming: That stuff is expensive, time consuming, and some of the people who participate I do not want to be anything like. On the up side it looks awsome, and it seems like a very deep game.
i used to be really into it, but i found all the players were obnoxious, or just plain bizarre so i guess i got frightened away. i do still collect the models though, just building and painting them is actually really rewarding, though the cost does mean i get very little new stuff, gives more time to focus on making what you have look good =)

THE GYM
I have never been, and I am etremely thin (like noodles for arms and legs). All I want is for my shirt sleaves to be tight against my upper arm, because right now it is about the size of my lower arm. But I go into a gym (either the YMCA gym or the school gym) and I will see the strong, muscular jocks... plus I would probably start benching 50-75, if that. The shame! If only a bunch of weights would appear in my house. :/
Easy fix, buy smaller shirts. (Badum tssssshhh!)

If you want to get into shape and don't want to hang out with a bunch of gym monkeys who will inevitably make fun of you to feed their own fragile egos and lack of genitalia, I would get either the P90 or P90X workouts. They're fun, quick, never the same workout twice, and all you need is the space, a set of dumbells or resistance bands and a pull-up bar. The instructor Tony is hilarious and will guide you through all the exercises, the proper diet, etc. (No I don't work for him, I just believe in the program that much) If you can spare 20-30 minutes a day I guarantee you'll see results!

You also might want to look into Matt Furey's Combat Conditioning which is all bodyweight exercises requiring no weights or equipment, but its a little more hardcore than P90.

I've been doing the P90 workout for 2 weeks and have already lost 15 pounds of belly fat and increased my muscle mass by about 20%.

Nothing is hotter than a nerd with muscles. At least that's what I keep telling myself ;)

Brains + Brawn = Babes.

GET TO IT! NO MORE EXCUSES! And that goes for all you "noodle armed" gamer geeks out there!
Agree totally. also there are Gyms out there not full of jocks and to be honest in a public gym most guys, even the big muscular ones arent going to be bothered about someone who has obviously decided to get out and work on their shape. In fact most will be more than happy to provide some advice and help if your willing to ask
Crotadilian is totally right, I just personally despise steroid monkey muscleheads... It's true though, the majority of people at public (Read: NOT GOLD'S) gyms will respect your decision to get off the couch, no matter how skinny you are. And the best revenge against any asshole muscleheads that make fun of you? KEEP GOING.

I watched a friend of mine turn himself from a 130 lb. "weakling" into a ripped-up, 180 lb. fat burning machine, and let me tell you, chicks dig guys that are toned and in good shape WAY more than the steroid monkey SUPER MASSIVE brick-brains.

Women that like dudes that massive generally look like this:

Scared yet?
Look at how toned her boobs are.. o_O

OT: Mine's probly learning an instrument, although I'm fixing that

Hehe... I guess I could do that. Next time I WILL buy smaller shirts, it can't hurt anything.
I might check out those 2 video things, normally I just laugh them off as another "get ripped quick!" scam. They can't hurt.
increased muscle mass by 20% eh? well, to paraphrase the snide comments about PS3 sales, 20% increase over 10 mg is still only 12 mg of muscle mass! :p

Have you ever thought of a career in advertising?

Trust me. It ain't that bad.

This is a common misconception. Not everyone at the gym is a 200kg mass of muscle or a gorgeous, perfectly sculpted with abs like a rock. There are fat people looking to lose weight, old people looking to stay in shape, scrawny guys looking to get a bit buff. Gyms are friendly and welcoming. No one's going to judge you or mock you for being skinny. It's part of the gym-going mentality: people have different bodies, but if they're going to the gym it means they care about being healthy and looking good.
I think this depends on where you go. Sometimes, if you go to one of those high-bar pricy gyms, you might get that. In my experiences at the YMCA, it was a very friendly atmosphere, but then again, it was a pretty small gym.

Everyone saying about the gym should really go down and have an actual look at its members, at my local one its largely women doing cardio, some middle aged men trying to get in shape and sporty young people getting in a bit of exercise (the category I fit into), I've hardly ever seen any of the stereotypical angry muscle men. Also everyone there is very friendly and I've made a few friends who work out around the time I do. My point is it might be an entirely different scene from what you imagine.

The whole prepy groups at my school.

I always wanted to be one but, the thing is that most of them do drugs, get drunk, spend craploads of money, and have sex.

Sorry, I rather be an outcast.

Note: these are prepy students at MY school.
Dude, you live in a backwards universe. I'm gunna have to call bulshit on that because that goes against every single thing I've seen in my life.

Forum RP. It scares me.

That and most things in life. I have the innate ability to suck at 99% of the things I try, and I'd rather not bear any more humiliation.

Heheh, I remember the first time I popped into the local gym to sign up. Good way to make oneself feel incredibly puny! Still, a few months and I've managed to stick at, so it's not all bad! But yeh, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. There are always plenty of average people (like myself) at my gym.

I've always found the thought of taking up a martial art quite intimidating. A long time ago I had a go at Karate, but didn't really get very far. More recently, a friend tried tirelessly to get me to take up Aikido and later Ninjutsu but I never had the guts to go along to either.

That's what I thought too the first time I saw an ad for P90, but after listening to what they had to say, and actually paying attention, it all made a LOT of sense. LOL a 20% increase in muscle mass on a 6'1" 200+ lb. frame is actually pretty good, smartass. ;)

Yeah, I sort of work in advertising, but I just make logos and websites for my clients, getting into marketing too much would be selling my soul, and Bill Hicks would never forgive me...

No man, I just like to help people improve themselves with a little encouragement, that's all.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, and some other inspirational crap...

Like I said, the ones in MY school. Chances are my school is a backwards universe.
