Most recently it's the modern adaptation of Sherlock Holmes for the BBC. Everyone I know, and everything I read about, is wanking over it, saying it puts BBC drama on a par with HBO original series. As far as I can tell it's almost exactly the same as Dr Who except entirely set in present day. It's directed badly, the roles the actors play are either bland or 'quirky' (read: annoying), and it's completely charmless. I DON'T GET IT!

Anyway, rant over.

Other than that, MW:2 (although it seems as though a lot of people in here agree), Pro Evo soccer over Fifa, the movies Shoot Em Up and Doomsday, and the book Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. Think that covers it for now.

Anyway, on topic I hate Apple as a company. Why? Not because everything they've recently made is an overpriced mishmash of poorly borrowed and executed concepts, or even that they treat their customers like crap. No! I can easily just not buy their products.

What pisses me off is that they have the gaul to tout their products as innovative breakthroughs, despite everything they make has had a better, cheaper counterpart which Apple merely stripped its carcass for easy ideas. They are not innovative, they are leeches, whith their generally bad products striving off borrowed ideas and a 'premium' price tag.

disclaimer: this are the things I dislike, I didn't give shit to any of the above answers, in spite of strongly disagreeing with some of them, so, please, keep the name calling for multiplayer matches, thanks, onto the list:

Twilight (I had to read the first book for review and was THE most painful reviewing experience in my life... and I sat through Pluto Nash...)

RTS: I can't really say I hate them (I have seen some matches and it actually looks fun if you know what you are doing) but I suck so much at them, that I would rather run in the oposite direction whenever I see one

The Doors: the most overrated band in the history of rock and roll

Glee: fuck Glee, why would you want to see a show centered around poorly covered versions of famous songs? grow a pair and do some musical research instead

Star Trek remake: garbage, garbage, garbage

Lil' Wayne: that guy sells billions of records... why? his music is terrible...

Kick-Ass: I found it deeply offensive, exploitative and poorly made

Lord of the Rings: bunch of people walking and boring the hell out of me

As a side note, a couple of things I like and everyone seems to hate:

Alien: Resurrection (I thought it had great atmosphere, the cinematography was incredible and the direction was stunning... I will start dodging the rotten fruit now...)

Repo Men (It has its share of unique moments... and, c'mon, who doesn't love a good knife fight??)

Terminator: Salvation (Giant terminators! Arnold cameo! the cinematography was insanely well done)

Chrono Cross : I may be the only person in the face of the earth who liked that one more than Final Fantasy VII and VIII

Deathcore is even worse, because it's death metal with "core" bullshit.

Problem is they all seem to get the good guitarists...

Also, Die Hard. Okay, fine, it was a good thriller, but with so many calling it the be all, end all of action movies, I was expecting, well, more action. McClane kills like ten people. There needs to be at least twenty or it's an action-thriller. A good on though.

Same thing with the Bourne movies. Thrillers, not stand alone action movies.

Dislike of and confusion towards something average that attracts disproportionate praise is understandable. Those are encountered regularly, as humans agreeing on anything is absurd. But outright stating that you hate these things and are disgusted by them, that they're shit and can't understand why someone would enjoy them displays either massive arrogance and egocentricism or simply an inability to word one's thoughts. And the fact that you typed you hate Pixar immediately drops my estimation of your legitamacy by several points.

I had similar thoughts, but I wasn't sure how to articulate them. Anyone who fails to see any merit in The Hurt Locker, or Pixar's stellar films, clearly didn't want to like them in the first place.

Anyway, as for me, I simply cannot understand why everyone likes Jennifer Hale's voice acting in the Mass Effect games. Now, I haven't played as FemShep in the first game, but I can't imagine that she is much better than she is in the second. In ME2, she is terrible. Every scene felt like a chore: she delivered every line in a boring monotone. Additionally, her voice is one of the least feminine that I have heard in a while. She sounds like a 15 year old boy in a high school drama class who thinks that acting is "gay" and doesn't want to do it, but who needs the fine-arts class in order to graduate.
Even further, I hear that one of the main criticisms of her is that she "overacts"?! Am I missing something? She does the exact opposite of overacting!

Well, I just don't get it. Maybe someone could explain her to me...?

Half Life 2 - meh gameplay, horrible way to narrate the story.

Dragon Age - boring plot, piss easy gameplay.

Films:

Avatar - generic story in the world designed worse than most of Magic: The Gathering planes.

Books:

Lord of the Rings trilogy - I love fantasy, I really do, so at least props for Tolkien for creating the genre, but damn those books are so boring.

Music:

Led Zeppelin - Again, props for being one of the precursors, but apart from several guitar solos, they are extremely bland

People:

Can't think of anyone ATM.
