And by that both idiot community sprung around it, and the games, which are utterly boring and pathetic in their attempts to lengthen gameplay - let's not forget the part in Halo:CE where you literally turn right back around and backtrack for a good hour or two through the exact same levels and enemies.
I suppose Twilight's a required mention as well. But no - no it's not enough. The entire popularized version of vampires in the media. You can't take a step without getting kicked in the face by a new vampire series these days. Thus far, White Wolf's VTM is the only one that captures the more original ideas such as Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Nosferatu; soulless inhuman parasites. Anne Rice can get a bit of slack because despite giving some feelings to hers, they still did a lot of really horrid things. Like the little girl? I can sorta see the thought behind sexualizing vampires, which she does, but Twilight and its contemporaries try to apply that to like 13 year old girls.

Twitter. I'm a friendless, misanthropic person. Being told I need to twitter - since when's that been a verb outside birds? - or "facebook", which I'm pretty sure still isn't a verb, or do any of these social networking things doesn't make me want to encounter people more than I do.
