I don't get the abused woman mentality. He hits you. He screams at you day in and day out. So why are you taking it? And why the hell do you attack anyone who tries to help?
Go listen to 'The Throes' by Two Gallants. It's a song about a family with an abusive father, told from the mother's perspective. Even if you don't like the song itself, just check out the lyrics, it's quite well written.

Getting drunk. Seriously, I could write entire essays on why it's the most senseless form of punishment for your body. What do you honestly get out of it? Most people I talk to hate the taste of hard liquor, but drink it anyway. They hate waking up with a hangover, hate embarrassing themselves when they're drunk, and so on and so on. Yet so many people, even on these forums are all about getting hammered/plastered/whatever you want to call it.
I just don't get it.
I don't drink either, and that fact alone puts a huge stigma on me. Fellow students look at me as if I'm one boring, uninteresting do-gooder who can't be fun. On the other hand, older people see me as a prime example... and after saying that, they take another sip of their glass of wine/bottle of beer.
How am I a good example, if nobody is following my 'good behaviour'?
Another thing I don't get is why I see some 8 year olds running around with cell phones, and actually USING them. What the hell do they need that for, they're friggin' EIGHT years old. I was still occasionally playing with my Mighty Max/Power Ranger toys, and Pokémon, for god's sake. I didn't need one, and frankly, being 19 as we speak, I still use it more often as a watch, than as a phone.
I also don't get the girls at concerts. You know, the kind that tries to get in the front row, then scream their lungs out yelling that they love the singer. Don't they have something better to do? Like, enjoy the music, because that's what they paid for?
