Rage Quit - I can still watch the first few and cringe just making me feel like its some 12 year old bitching at being bad (Even if Michael is older than twelve and is paid to do so). Now I can't go a week without watching a new Rage Quit.

Popular music for me. Specifically, I'll hear a song and not like it, then I will catch the singer performing it live and the energy of the performance will make it sound much better. I'll try it again and realize that now I actually like this song. With music today, this definitely doesn't happen much anymore.

A lot of Miracle of Sound's things took me a few listens to really get into them. But once I did get into them, I got into them hard
Yay!

OT: Bread, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Made me feel sick the first time I dipped a piece of bread into that mixture. Then it grew on me and now it is one of my favorite appetizers. Ever.

Damn I want some now...

I'm sure a lot of people are going to flame me for this so gimme a second *puts on flame-retardant suit*

Naruto,

couldn't stand it to begin with, had the misfortune of watching a movie first, and the first few episodes didn't grip me (I only kept watching this far because my friend seemed to love it and I'm far too polite to interrupt someone enjoying themselves) and I'm not sure when it happened but a few episodes in once I got into it, I found myself really liking it, even liking some of the aspects I didn't like before, I even found Naruto himself less annoying, though he'll never be my favorite character, Rock Lee is, just in case anybody's interested

ME2, I only have a ps3 and I use that for the majority of my gaming time and I never played the first game so I was very skeptical about playing the second game without playing the first one regardless of the interactive comic that they provide you and the first hour or two I shrugged it off and quit prematurely because I was not sure where to go after the prelude and only a few days ago I got back into the game and have already invested like 40 hours into the game.

A few cartoon shows that I never really got the time to watch when I was a kid like Invader Zim and also a few other TV shows like Fraiser and The Big Bang Theory.

Pokemon - although I don't play it anymore. I was kinda indifferent towards it back when it first came out around 1997/98, never really paid much attention to it. I probably would've continued not paying much attention to it if my best friend wouldn't have gotten cancer. As it turned out however he really got into Pokemon during his cancer treatments and suggested I get the other version so we could play together; and me looking for any excuse to hang out with my sick friend, was all over it even though I didn't really care for Pokemon at the time. As a result I found I really quite enjoyed the game and really got quite into the franchise.

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea: wasn't too sure about a lot of it at first, but now it's almost certainly one of my favourite albums. It is literally a masterpiece in musicianship and lyricism.

Also, Fallout: NV. Just could not get into it at the start (I made a thread about it here actually) but eventually I sunk hours over it and have been feeling the urge to start a new game as a gunslinger.

There are probably tons more, but these are two that come to mind at the minute.

Probably Adventure Time. Didn't really like a couple of the season 1 episodes and the promo with the kid running around was ABSOLUTELY FUCKING ANNOYING! Luckily, I found a few episodes I liked and it grew on me. Plus the whole post-apocalyptic background is a nice little addition that keeps me interested as well.

My favorite episode is currently Dad's Dungeon and my favorite character is Marceline because she's an actual vampire.

Oh and the snow golem from the Thanksgiving episode.

The comic series Frank. It's very alternative, but very good.

Secondly, the comic Jimmy Corrigan, the Smartest Kid in the World by Chris Ware. The most depressing comic ever. And very, very good once I understood that the unrealistic parts were dream sequences.

Paul McCartney's Flaming Pie album. Didn't like it as a kid, I do now.

What else? Hm...

The manga AKIRA. Too dark at first, but later I grew to really like it.

Extreme metal, like death/black metal. I used to make fun of bands like Cannibal Corpse for their growls, but As I Lay Dying and Opeth turned me on to death vocals. And I used to think Dimmu Borgir was really stupid and cheesy, but I eventually got into black metal. Hell, I'm in a black/death metal band right now.

Also, video games. I never really grew up with them 'cause my parents only gave me a Gameboy Color and later an Advanced SP. My first console was a Gamecube in 5th or 6th grade, lawl. I used to be pretty awful at games and I didn't like playing them, but something or other changed that. May have been Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Men.. yeah that was a surprising one

Anyway, pop music, never thought I'd like all this snazzy fazzy modern music back in my 80s and classical music era, but now I love it as a genre.. and Im also (unfortunately) moving into almost club like music..
Also heavy metal or metal in general, went to a Rammstein gig, moshed for 2 hours, came out a reformed man with a passionate love for the german language and metal/rock
I used to think all "electronic" was just boring repetitive stuff to dance too (I think I mean techno)

but after soem daft punk and "dubstep" related stuff...there awsome stuff that actually "sounds" like a proper song

Rap. Man, it's weird how much you change in college. Less than a year ago I would've never touched rap, not even Eminem. Then my coworkers got me to listen to My Beautiful Dark Fantasy and it has changed my mind completely.
.
my absolute favorite song from that was "Gorgeous"

anyay, I think rap is somthing I almost "forced" myself to like..to see past the hate/mysogany/nasty stuff and actually see the apeal

Veronica Mars

A series set in a high school (*sigh*)
where the students separate themselves between the rich and poor kids (*sigh*)
about the clever, sarcastic daughter of the local private detective (*SIGH*)
who both helps him and other students by doing a lot of detective work herself (* S I G H *)

In a nutshell, the series sounds pretty horrible for anyone who was never endeared by stuff like 90210 or Dawson's Creek or Nancy Drew, buut it's actually a pretty great series that pulls no punches when it comes to actual, relateable drama and has some clever standalone episodes as well as an engaging (although sometimes silly) overarching plot and most of all, shockingly likeable characters

For me owning a cat. I thought of them as spawns of hell dead set on stealing your soul when you sleep and clawing your eyes out when your awake, but my cat is just as loyal and effectionate as a dog and always greets me happily whenever I come back home and has never ONCE clawed me. Everyone who meets my cat gets jealous at how friendly it is.

I hate to admit it but First Person Shooters are really growing on me. I'm even enjoying the Halo games.

EDIT: OH! I forgot, wine. I used to hate wine but it's all I've been drinking for the past 3 weeks. Cheap, fruity goodness.

Hip Hop, The Mighty Boosh and Leonardo DiCaprio movies. The Departed turned me right around on the latter.

Skyward Sword comes to mind first. It took me a few hours in before I began to like the game and adjust myself to the motion controls. Nintendo switched up the Zelda formula a bit about half way through the game which I thought was awesome.

Specifically after you finish killing the boss in the Lanayru Mining Facility there's then a handful of cut scenes and you eventually end up fighting another boss shortly after which totally comes out of the blue.

Also, British Comedy/Sitcoms (Peep Show, Space, Whites) and some Anime. Two genre's which I previously had no interest in have grown on me. I more so just had to find stuff I liked within each respective genre before dismissing them as a whole.

Lastly, Youtube. I've always been a fan of the site using it to listen to music, watch funny videos, etc. Now I actually made an account and found myself subscribing to channels and creating music play lists which I at first thought would be too tedious to bother with, while it actually saves me time in the long run.
